Too bad the article was snarky and implied the Jags were being silly. The fan experience has steadily deteriorated at many venues, but football is the worst. Overpriced beer, obscene parking prices, obnoxious, often violent "fans", not to mention ticket prices that could buy a new TV or nice suit.
For the price of the Samsung TV, I could take my Son and his Friends to five home games. Problem is, I'm not nuts enough to go through that (not because of his Friends-they're good kids), in order to "be there" in person. I can drop less than $100 for chips, sodas, and pizza, then he can have his Friends over here where they're safe from the numerous index crimes, and I don't even have to drive, and see a dozen middle fingers being displayed at other cars in line. I do find it a complete shame that our society has become what it has. As noted on the last page, I'm not kidding when I say, the SWAT team is probably somewhere within a stone's throw at every home game.:eek:It's also a bad precedent to go buy the TV, and say fuck it, as yes, the trash that's taken over the event has won. Pisses me off to no fucking end! Lived here as a kid for a short time; don't recognize any of the "change," and am moving as SOON AS my Son graduates High School next year.
I wouldnt wear an opposing jersey to an oakland or detroit home game, but i wouldnt be too worried in most stadiums in the league. Me and a buddy went to the San Fran Seattle game last year, in sanfran, and he is a die hard seattle fan, and he wore the jersey the whole game, i was pissed at him cause i thought it was going to make us outcasts and i paid for most of the trip, but he was humble, didnt cheer much, took a pretty good razzing from the crowd, and didnt rub it in, or fight back, we were friends with everyone around us by the end of the game, and we ended up picking up a couple babes after the game all cause they started mocking his jersey in the end, so it worked out good. In hindsight though sanfran won the game so i dont know if it would have turned out different if the 49ers would have lost. Bottom line is dont be a jackass in the other teams barn especially if you win in the playoffs, but some stadiums are simply out of control like detroit or oakland. Btw AAA, being that you are a washington fan, what do you think the over/under is on the number of segments tomorrow night that trash the redskins name? Im saying atleast half a dozen.
Truth be told id rather watch the game on T.V. most of the time, ive been too a few games, and it can become hard to follow if everyone is jumping up every time there is a good play that plus 15$ a beer makes it not worth it, unless its your first time..... only reason to go to a game live is for the party and the atmosphere, otherwise its way better watching at home. Half the time you end up watching the game on the screen anyways when you go to it live, if you dont have good seats, its definitely not worth it.
In Jacksonville, they stand the entire game. Ask them to sit down, and they say no thanks. That's mind-bending to me, as these people's fat asses are inches from my face. This is a place where the assholes KNOW no one will break their heads open as cops are at every turn. And after going into the nose bleeds to see the game I had $500 in, that was the end of the end. The $2k tv was the better idea I've had all year. I turned down free tickets to the Colts Jags game, keeping $ in pocket buying less than $100 in food, gas in car, and MUCH better time not having to be on guard for attack/robbery (which is a sad statement all in it's own), plus no fat fucks standing in my face. NFL football in person- never again unless helicoptered there, and in private suite. Sad statement of our "progress" as a society
I would say don't wear visiting team gear at an Eagles game. You stand a good chance of a fight there no matter what you're wearing. Probably thuggish Steelers fans wouldn't appreciate it either. Ravens, I'd say the problems will arise when you leave the stadium, as Baltimore is a giant housing project filled with violent obama supporters. The Redskins name crusade seems to have died down a bit as the zealots now are on to domestic violence. No doubt there will be some grandstanding by one or more media jerks however. It's funny about these networks. They must want people to watch the games, unlike say the evening news where it is clearly all about pushing an agenda, even if they lose a ton of money doing it. But they put these annoying assholes like Costas and Olberman front and center. Fox demoted their best sideline reporter, Pam Oliver, and replaced her with a total airhead, Erin Andrews.
More thugs ruining the game day experience, this time in SF. Probably amish. http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/20...-fans-fighting-inside-levis-stadium-bathroom/
49ers fans had been in a previous brawl in arizona. Are they the west coast version of the Iggles? http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/20...on-camera-at-49ers-cardinals-game-in-arizona/
