This helps Joe thusly, when he recovers his customers will have companies for employees to go to and make a living. That is how the economy works and grows, personal assistance is a one time benefit which is quickly burned through.
I knooow what you're saying... but in the same breath... bailing out all those people, won't mean diddly if all these companies that fuel our economy go tits up. Right? Sure, people bitch that corporations "pay no taxes" or whatever... but the millions of employees that work for them do. These folks buy houses, cars, and everything else. Its a tough call for those in charge to make. Believe it or not G... these folks aren't dummies. They are as smart as you or I, and they are privy to a lot more information, be it empirical or ivory tower. There's not some big conspiracy at work here to save CEO's. There's not. Its just an incredibly fine line. Our economy's a house of cards. This Corona stuff... it would be NOTHING compared to the grid going down out of the blue for a month. You wanna see chaos at Costco.... that shit happens and lead will be flying by week 5.
And there lies the rub. Who manages the grid? Blue collar workers who on average fit into the group of Americans with little to no emergency savings. Would be a real shame if one of them showed up to work sick out of necessity and there's no one left to help when an idiot slams into a transformer on the way home from buying 8,000 rolls of TP.
Nobody I find the US pure comedy gold in recent years. Sad though the unnecessary danger some will have due to this virus and Trump's policies on health care. The only good thing about this virus is it's the final nail in Trump's election chances. The man let his supersized ego get to him and bragged about the stock market and what he'd do for the economy to such a degree that even his supporters know he was full of shit by now. Where is the 5-6% GDP that was "easy" ? Did you personally get a lower tax rate ? He's looking bad even if the virus is quickly controlled. If not, he'll be presiding over a recession that hit the people very suddenly without suitable help from the government which is already running a massive deficit.
Canada is far better prepared for a outbreak then the US. The final figures will confirm it as do the early returns.
Well no, thats 100% why they'd bail out the utilities. So they can keep paying those folks. That goes without saying. They won't bail out Southern Companies if there's no line-men putting up lines after remnants of Hurricane Tony rolls up through Atlanta to help turn GA from red to blue. One thing you can bet your ass on G.... the grid comes before all else. I think they'd put the grid before Isis. As well they should. Man I could tell you a story about a piece of timber property I owned that had the 4800V high tension wires on an easement down one-side of it. You wanna get my blood boiling.... those m'r-f'rs ... its good though... the grid is top priority.
Bust the call to your local messiah . . . . . . he steadfastly refuses to release any information about his condition. What is he hiding ? . ? . ? Press secretary Stephanie Grisham stonewalls NYT on questions about Trump’s coronavirus test results There was widespread confusion on Saturday over whether President Donald Trump has tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus. The commander-in-chief announced Saturday that he had been tested Friday evening, but claimed the results would not be available until Sunday or Monday. Experts disputed his claim. “And I would think if the president was tested, it would be a two-hour turn around on the assay,” virologist and epidemiologist Joseph Fair explained Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said it was “sort of astonishing they haven’t released that test yet.” The confusion was compounded by the fact the president’s own physician said the test was not necessary. “President Trump said on Saturday that he had taken a coronavirus test and was awaiting results, a little more than 12 hours after the White House physician released a statement saying that because the president had no symptoms, a test was not necessary,” The New York Times reported Saturday. “On Saturday, Mr. Trump’s almost casual admission at a White House news conference of his decision to get tested — not because of his interactions with Brazilian officials who later tested positive for the virus, but because of news media coverage — raised more questions than it answered,” The Times explained. The newspaper sought clarification from the White House press secretary, but not even The New York Times could get an answer. “Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary, did not respond to questions about whether Mr. Trump took the test before or after the release of Dr. Conley’s letter, or why Mr. Trump would have taken a test in spite of the advice of his doctor,” The Times reported. Grisham has refused to hold daily press briefings to keep the public informed.
The news of Trump's demise is grossly exaggerated.....don't count him out yet. He survived pussy grabbing, mexican rapists, disabled reporter and lying about mexicans paying for the wall and other things and his base has not left him. They will blame Corona on Obama and praise Trump as a god for saving them and giving them toilet paper.
