you are jumping to a conclusion I did not intend. I am merely asking which version you think is easy to understand? the version that is publicly available, but Anek does not use anymore? or the subsequent versions, which are not available to the public? I don't know Anek, so I can't say which method he uses. In a recent post he made in the P/L 2008 thread, he was very successful doing "scalping" trades. I guess he evolved again...
I think there is a very large subset of ET with this experience. SCT just makes sense when you really look at it, but I've found it hard to implement as well (certainly in it's entirety). I think alot of people will take issue with me calling AHG a "subset" of SCT, but when you look at most trading systems and formations they really all try to accomplish the same thing. SCT just covers it (mostly with the channels alone). All head and shoulders patterns are going to have an FTT as the right shoulder, trendline breaks are RTL breaks in channels, pennants are taken care of, it really is all in there. Not mean reversion, however, which Jack states he's not really on board with. For the record, AHG and Anek have absolutely no relation to SCT that I know of, I don't mean it a subset in that manner. When I looked into AHG it seemed they were basically entering on the point 3 of a channel, and subsequently on RTL bounces. thanks, TNG
Thank you for this post. I have written about this in the past. It is quite common with SCT traders. I akin this to the "Battered wife syndrome". Its never the system's fault... "it must be me"... "if only I tryed harder"..... "if only I listen to Jack more carefully"... etc, etc, etc. If only supper wasnt cold, he wouldn't have hit me. He hit me last night, but i know he loves me..... He only hurts me when he's drunk....... Amazing stuff..... I posted about this months ago..... and now im proven right.
I've only seen AHG1. It's taking time but I can follow it a lot easier then SCT. Does he have to make all 'versions' available to the public? Apparently he trades more then one account, from what I've seen/heard. He posted in the P/L thread, which I've never seen JH do. There are other people much more familiar with Anek then myself that could fill in some blanks. Like others have said, maybe it's just me and not SCT. I don't know for certain.

I have no good or bad comments about AHG, nor any intention to make comparison with any other trading methods or systems.
My main problem was I could never pick off a pt 3. I'd be too early and then stop out, too late and then have increased risk. If AHG can explain the concept of entering in pt3 in a different way, maybe I will be able to understand it.
It was a statement in question form. But don't worry, although Anek does not use AHG version one anymore, he has assured everybody that the system is still a good one. (I think it is up to version 3 now.)
Link? I offer the suggestion that it is me and not SCT because I don't want to get into a debate about SCT working or not. I can honestly say I did not do all Spyder asked of me (such as posting my annotated charts every day and studying the charts of others.. I mean I did that a few times and people mocked me so I quit posting mine but anyway..). I can say if someone wants to learn SCT, they should be prepared to spend 1-2 years on it annotating ES every day and studying others' charts. If one isn't prepared to do that (about 8 hours/day) then I would find another approach (which is what I did).
