Even Biden and all of his handlers knew this thing wasn't legal or even viable. They would have been shocked if it had been allowed to stand - thus Biden on TV this afternoon with his "Plan B" already rolled out. It was all political the entire time. It was Biden always saying "hey look at what I'm trying to do for you and these evil MAGA Republicans won't let me because they hate you". These are the games Washington plays now.
Given how he operates today, I would expect a new debt forgiveness plan rolled out now - because he knows that SCOTUS can't take it up until the Fall and the ruling wouldn't be until next Spring. He's just going to do whatever he wants anyway. For the current administration, you don't need to follow the laws you don't like.
Trump tanks the GOP Party in terms of the Presidential elections and the Congressional midterms. The Supreme Court motivates Dem voters. It's such an easy election cycle.
Not as easy as you may think. The dems like to portray the Supreme Court as just a group of old white guys out of touch with mainstream Americans. The "out of touch" shpiel is their favorite kabuki dance. The problem with that is that is: 1) The new ruling on affirmative action is 100% in line with what mainstream America believes/supports according to polls. 2) Although the dems are outraged over the repeal of Roe, many of the republican candidates are proposing a 15 week limit on abortion which is also 100% in line with that the majority of Americans support according to the polls- versus the "abortion up to and after birth" that dems advocate. 3) Today's ruling on student loans is 100% in line with what mainstream working class Americans support according to the polls. They do not want to pay for the wokesters degree in gender studies while they working down at the machine shop. 4) And as the court/s continue to limit all the trans swimmer madness and the like, that too is 100% in line with where normal, non-freak Americans are. The liberal nutcases have gone too far. Especially in the schools and with all the Drag Queen preying on kids in schools madness. Nope. Dems are out in la-la land on most issues these days. Following the science by telling you that some one with a dick and XY chromosomes can be a woman if he clicks his heels and spreads fairy dust on himself. Some of the madness and chickens are going to come home to roost for the dems in the next election. Michigan just made it a felony to refer to someone by the wrong pronoun. Good luck campaigning on that one.
Joe is supposed to be an action figure now that Hollywood has advised him to "embrace his age." Maybe Mattel will come out with a Joe Biden action figure. You wind him up and he trips and falls down or whatever. We are all going to die if he is re-elected. China will move on Taiwan within months of the election. Just as the Russians moved on Ukraine after seeing Joe's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Well pay it then, you're rich. Here's the basics of it without copying and pasting the whole article: “I’m not going to stop fighting to deliver borrowers what they need,” the president said at the White House on Friday hours after the Supreme Court overturned his plan to forgive up to $20,000 in student loan debt for Americans making under $125,000 a year. He said he had directed his team to launch a new program to cancel student debt using a different legal authority, the Higher Education Act of 1965. The Higher Education Act, progressive groups and some legal scholars say, gives the secretary of education broad authority to “compromise, waive or release” debt. Some legal scholars contend that Biden should have relied on the law in the first place because it stood a greater chance of passing muster at the high court. The president’s efforts to revive sweeping debt cancellation will keep the issue alive heading into the 2024 campaign season. But the new plan may not be implemented before next year’s election, some legal scholars said. Debt forgiveness is popular among young voters, who turned out in large numbers in the recent midterm elections. Initially, the Biden administration decided to use the Heroes Act to underpin the loan-forgiveness program the president unveiled last year. Biden’s aides said they took that route because it allowed the administration to move quickly. The Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the Heroes Act, which permits the education secretary to modify student-aid programs to respond to emergencies, doesn’t permit him “to rewrite that statute from the ground up.” Senior Biden administration officials, led by White House chief of staff Jeff Zients, have been weighing legal options for weeks in an effort to prepare for the possibility that the Supreme Court would overturn the program. The officials met with outside groups and worked through policy proposals with lawyers from the White House, Education Department and the Justice Department, White House officials said. “This new path is legally sound. It’s going to take longer, but in my view it’s the best path that remains to providing as many borrowers as possible with debt relief,” Biden said.
The 3 certainly are. And "I can't define a woman" Brown is a joke--total affirmative action hire. Her "dissent" on AA was less articulate than some letters to the editor I've read in small-town newspapers. Total intellectual lightweight.
Meanwhile in France, the Dems' pro-Antifa/BLM and unlimited immigration policies are reaching their logical conclusions. And of course "progressive" Europe doesn't want their citizens to have guns so they're defenseless. Terrorists rioters were burning down a famous library last I heard. I guess those "diverse" types aren't so intellectual.
