I was trading options on PPP, TDY, and Sante Fe Industries, not too mention stock-index futures on the NYFE at 5 lots a clip over the phone in 1981/1982 from my broker's office before being hired in 1984 by Victor Sperandeo to work one of his seats on the NYFE..................after that I gave hand jobs to Louie and Joey Borselino. Congrats.
Landis has been in my ignore pit for awhile, but it's nice to see bits of his text in others' quotes, still exercising his predilection for conclusions unsupported by logic. Ron Paul is the only guy I can see who still gives a damn about the free markets remaining free of government tampering.
Wow, that's a helluva good resume you got there, pretty amazing actually. You were working for a guy who I used to read books about when I first started out ... and you still needed help from me? Guess experience really doesn't count for much in this game! But thanks for allowing me to educate you, one more time (no joke intended). ... BLAM!
"Why is it that price discovery of these assets is a bad thing?" Landis... There is nothing bad about price discovery for these assets. There is everything bad about the governement discovering the price for these assets.
Given that you just joined ET last month, that's pretty rich . . . You are an idiot. That much we know, and it has only been one month. Keep talking about Ron Paul. He's about as electable as they come!
The biggest one thing to fear from a left wing liberal socialist is their decibles. Their shrill screach for reformation of our democracy is by far louder than any voice of sanity that exists today.... except for today.
Stop talking sense to an obvious tool ... someone who has been in the markets for years but doesn't know basic information about charting systems or datafeeds (and I got the PM's to prove it).
Ahh.. I know the type... The type that needs handouts to survive. Or maybe... .... a failed trader that is now out to corrupt the entire freetrade system, to bring the edge back towards them (or at least in their heads). Never gonna happen.
There is nothing wrong with the Treasury facilitating "price discovery" in this case given the severity and magnitude of the current situation. Does the United States wish to go the way of Japan for the next decade? Again, many of you simply wish to let the "patient" die in intensive care without ever getting him into the OR. You're too obsessed with who is to blame to realize just how DEFLATIONARY this current situation is. I disagree with that "give-up" mentality . . . especially when there is a good shot at the Treasury making money on this deal.
Anybody who votes for McCain because of this Bill will have it coming to them. This is a pure political move. When McCain is in the office, it's not just a 700Billion bail out. It will be more, and more will go to the big corporations. I fully believe in free markets, but it's just naive to think the House Republicans voted again the Bill for their love of free market. Why are people so gullible? The money will be spent by the politicians eventually, you either spend it now, with some oversight, or spend it later(when McCain is in the office and the House Republicans get re-elected again) with no oversight.
