I have had a theory that conservatives, real conservatives not these Trump types, are actually much more caring people than liberals. I think liberal minded people sort of cut through the emotions and get to solutions ie things like social security or universal healthcare. They just want to fix a problem and move on. Conservatives on the other hand seem to deny there is a problem altogether. Things like child poverty, mass shootings or climate change. So, what makes people deny a problem right in front of their face? In my opinion they care so deeply about things like suffering kids their minds won’t let them process it. Acknowledging the problem would be too much for them and they would become overwhelmed with emotions like guilt and sympathy so they don’t fully process the issues.
No one denies the problem exists. You just remain convinced that your solution to the problem is the only viable option, and we disagree with that premise.
