It is valuable to save others during your prosperous period and it's important to save your own skin in adversity.

  2. Egypt just killed 300000 pigs...Israel is our largest recipient of Foreign Aid.

Is there a joke in there some where?

  5. This has nothing to do with NATIONAL Parks like Yosemite.

    It's California STATE parks.

Not saying it's right, just clarifying the distinction. If the STATE parks don't pay for themselves, then they should either cut staffing and/or raise fees, but not close them entirely.

It's the same old crap. Cut the government services that are most visible to middle-class voters in hopes that they will change their preference from lower taxes to higher taxes. The state parks are a small dent in the budget but the cuts will get lots of newspaper headlines. Next will come cuts to state-police budgets I'm sure. It'll be more stuff like this before we hear of any cuts to welfare recipients, across-the-board lay-offs of state workers, or pay-cuts for most state employees.

Here's an example of something that isn't getting cut:

The state is broke, but we will continue to invest in building Hydrogen service stations for non-existant hydrogen powered cars...

  7. I am all for green when it makes sense. But like this, I laugh when people spend 30% more on home to save 20 bucks a month, cmon, get a clue. T Boone's idea of natural gas cars make much more sense. I looked into solar panels and the ROI is 7 years minimum. No thanks I don't plan on living in my house for another 7 years.

The Governor's Mansion is a state park? LOL. Schwartzie can go live under a bridge. I am so glad I moved and am not paying 9% tax to that SOB any more.
