  1. Only in San Fran that wouldn't happen.

    Maybe.

But how many people on welfare (and I dont care what race, ethnicity, religion etc etc) are truly needy?

Able bodied bums need to pick the veggies, make the beds, wash the cars, and mow the lawns. THEN, you may have your welfare check. Not to watch TV and drink Thunderbird and lay on the sidewalk for a subsidy.

Plus you miss something else. Whether its Juan or John doing the back breaking work for $1.05 plus pack of Marlboros, he's got a wife and kids who may or may not be legal working the system.

So that head of lettuce that you pay .89 cents for if the social costs were truly factored in might cost $8.90 to pay for "free" health care at emergency rooms, "free" school, "free" financial aid and so on and so on.

    Doesnt really matter anymore though.

The genie is out of the bottle. Pedro and Pete walk down the golden brick road is nearing the edge of a cliff.

China and India have got a taste now and the Feudal Capitalists see 2 billion+ slaves who wont form a union, or ask for bathroom breaks in the Masters of the Financial Universes lifetime. The beginning of the End will occur after the Olympics when China no longer has to play nice. Then ObamaMania. Then it's on.

Which is exactly why the USA has to get lean and mean with people not inclined to break a sweat, or develop their brainpower, but who are experts at gaming the system.

Because eventually the most creative and capable will flee. Where to Im not sure of yet.

    The-pain-is-a-coming.

  4. It's not just getting lean and mean, but also investing in our Educational System and giving citizenship to all of those engineers that come over from Asia to work in Silicon Valley on H-1 Visa's.

We no longer have any engineering "base" here in the U.S. - - - These are the people that we should be MAKING CITIZENS of the USA!!!

The lack of emphasis on EDUCATION in this Country is truly astounding . . . There is one helluva day of reckoning coming, that is for sure. I'm truly afraid that the next generation will be one of obese adult type-2, hamburger "flippers".

During the 2006-2007 school year, 127,292 high school students quit school in California. That comes out to a whopping 25%

    Exactly Landis!

I think it costs 30k to maintain 1 Federal prisoner. 30% of the "gentlemen" in US prisons are illegal.

Funds for an ILLEGAL criminals welfare OR the SAME funds allocated to send kids who have the brainpower or aptitude to college/trade school etc? Or at least encourage them to put down Xbox and cannabis and have a chance to better their future without financial worry?

50 billion for Aids in Africa? OR the same 50 billion to help or elderly and kids in cancer wards who parents cant keep up with insurance premiums.

10 billion/month for Iraq or same 10 billion to fix our own infrastructure thats just about had it?

Tough choices ahead. And the most pornographic word to a politician is "accountability"

You can do one or the other of the above but not both without turning the greenback to TP.

All this too, is moot if energy in the USA isnt dealt with in a comprehensive way

  6. I remember reading a couple of years ago that LA County's Health Care Admin. was in debt 1 Billion, and had to close 4 major trauma centers. Can't imagine how bad it is now.
