I just read your post after posting, my Bad. You called it: This post is a waste of time. next time I'll read ur post Fract. before I continue:> Best wishes
Right, that seems to be how he expects to get more bodies into the office. Not a particularly new or innovative advertising technique here. I think it comes off as more respectful and professional when you pay for the privilege, like with TradersStudio and Puretick. Well done to the 12345 person above for being smart enough to sniff him out.
hold bros and other prop trading firms had tiny, lonely, empty booths at the NYC expo this year. my observation indicate that interest is waning bigtime in stock prop shops despite the raging bull market. not to mention any names, but several of these guys looked bored out of their mind at card table type set ups. i felt bad for them as i know it cost serious $ to be there. the active prop booths were the option and future shops like vtrader for example. regards, surf
It's hardly a coincidence, but your revelation isn't. I do not hide who I am, nor do I hide the company for which I trade, unlike you. However, I am not a salesperson or a recruiter. I am the BRANCH MANAGER. Clearly you lack the vocabulary to make the disctinction. Not one item that I have posted is an attempt to recruit anyone or sell anything. I clearly stated that I might be a bit biased in one of the prior posts in this thread. Furthermore, I have posted items with regard to my experiences at several different firms. I'm very satisfied with Hold, and posting that is hardly a solicitation. I've been impressed with other firms, as well. Bright Trading, Geneva Trading and Harrison Trading are all firms with which I have some experience. I think they are all top notch, quality firms. Does that make me a salesperson for those firms? Am I plugging them? I have simply given feedback as most on this site have. Based on your logic, anyone that has anything negative to say about a firm must be a disgruntled former employee. Although, I'm flattered that you'd dedicate so much time to something so trivial. What does that tell us about you?
Agreed, there is a lot of private capital in the industry. However, I made mention of it with regard to the firms because it is a relevant factor. The firms I spoke to have multiple issues that go beyond licensing. As a matter of fact, they have recently encountered legal and compliance issues and may be dissolved any day now. There are some great firms out there and I have acknowledged them as well. I haven't commented on many firms, only thosewith which I'm familiar. When someone wrote a post asking about one such firm, I replied with accurate information. You need to be bashing those that post inaccurate information. I don't hide who I am, and what I post can be supported by fact. That's a whole lot more than 75 percent of the trash posted on this site.
I guess this Reyes guy didnt notice a name on this thread...I believe Schonfeld has been around a lot longer than 1995.....
I have only posted negative commentary regarding one firm, SDV, LLC., which recently ran into a lot of legal trouble. I advised someone who was seeking information on the firm to avoid them. Turns out it was good advice. I did mention in the same post (as it was part of the same question) that ECHOtrade had some issues, but was pretty much a solid firm. It is a fact that many accounts were turned off because of registration issues at ECHO. I do think they are a respectable firm, however. I am hardly a billboard for Hold Brothers; and, I do not make a habit out of bashing competitors. In none of those posts did I plug our branch. It was independent advice. That's hardly an accomplishment. All any of you had to do was click on my s/n to find out my affiliation with Hold. I do not hide who I am, hence my s/n. Rather, it's those of us who lacking in professionalism and posting 6th grade insults that choose to hide their identities. Additionally, I did post that "I might be biased, but..."
Hey, I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and take back my implication that you're trying to get some bodies in your office if you had a reasonable explanation as to why you appeared out of the blue to revive a 5 year old discussion about Hold vs Schoenfeld that no one would see. Why did you feel compelled to announce that that Hold has operations in NY, NJ, Chicago, and SF in that initial comment? You were aware, as you said, that it was a 5 year old discussion...
I encountered someone else in the industry who let me know that he was under the impression that Hold no longer was in the prop biz, and pointed to this site. As it is inaccurate information, I thought I'd post a reply. Clearly that was a mistake. Never did I think it would raise so much controversy.
