I might be a bit biased, but I totally disagree about new being better than old. Any company is going to learn with time. Although there may have been some issues with Hold in the past, it's a process and you improve. I think Graybox is the best platform on which I've traded; and, I've traded for some great companies. There are always going to be somethings that you like and dislike about any platform. Unfortunately, this isn't a smorgasbord. One cannot simply take only the things he/she likes from a platform. Hold's Graybox has remarkably fast executions, is user friendly and has great features. CNBC and INC. have reported on this, and I've profited becuase of it.

Regarding new firms, so many have opened and closed their doors as of recent, there's something to be said for a firm that has longevity in this industry. Hold has solid financials, is hyper-compliant and has it's act together. That cannot be said about the bulk of prop firms in the US.

Hold could be the best firm on the face of the earth, but I suggest you be honest about your intentions for posting this. I'm sure you didn't just happen to sniff up a thread that's years old by accident.

You are obviously an insincere shill with an agenda. Transparent salesmen are distasteful and only serve to embarrass the product they are selling. Have some integrity.

  4. .. That is unless you are talking about someone over the hill.
An old dog could be experienced and progressive and a young dog can be lame and stupid.

Look at the management and the philoposphy of the business and the actual performance over recent years.
Are the old dogs progressive or just repeating old tricks of yester year. And what do the young dogs know? What experience have they had and are they still wet beind the ears.

Reading through the comment posts it seems no one has any real business experience to be able to evaluate the prop firms being discussed. What is evident too regarding most of the prop trading firms is they are ALL stale.

There are significant changes to markets, regulation and globalisation yet less than a handful have seen the wisdom of setting up offshore in Hong Kong. Search for them under "proprietary traders hong kong"if you want to see who are progressive - and leave the domestic firms alone - none offer much at all.

Fractal, how dare you insult me. Who are you to lecture me on integrity or anything else for that matter? You certainly don't know a thing about me. I am not some shill; and, I do not have an agenda, nor am I peddling anything. I do trade for Hold, and I have been satisfied with the platform and the company., I will certainly defend my point of view, and challenge information that seems to be contrary to my experiences.

What's distasteful is your post. Instead of lecturing, you need to be learning, particularly, manners, tact and professionalism. If you want to disagree with me, we can certainly make that a productive conversation. You need to concentrate on trading rather than trading insults. People like you only serve to embarrass those of us who are truly professionals.

  7. Hey if you are not a salesman, and you trade at Hold.

Could you please tell us all the name of the manager of the Chicago office?

No I found it here http://www.onli.com/locations_2-4.html

hmmm who is at number 10?

    10) Chicago, IL (OSJ)
BRANCH OFFICE MANAGER - Joseph Reyes
    30 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 2257/2258
    Chicago, IL 60606
    Tel. 312-466-7637

Im sure it is just a coincidence that your user name here and his name are similar.

You revived a thread that's several years old (I'm sure you just happened to find it by accident) and you're apparently a branch office manager, according to the person above. I think people can go with the simplest and most obvious explanation of your behavior and still be drawing a reasonable conclusion.

  9. I would think jmreyes is Joseph Reyes nice work. Very little honor in this business. I think hold brothers is a decent firm. I would never make deals some of the LLC’s hold brothers will give straight great rates if you put 5k down. Reyes pretty much said every Chicago firm he commented on since joining ET had compliant issues. One firm he said was shady because they did not ask for a 7. I know nothing about the firm but he never went to explain that there is a lot of private money in the business now and it’s cheaper to not register people as professional licensed traders.

  10. I traded for Schony in the Chicago office during the last bull.

Schony is a solid firm, payout structure wasn't bad at all. Those who spout that crap never traded for Schony. I'm not sure of their structure as of now, if its the same, its fair.

I belive schony has a few diffrent divisions now. I believe both require capital contribution.

Nevertheless, Prop firms in general as "Daytrading" is falling by the way side. So, its a mute point IMHO.
