Both CBS and CNN claimed that Scaramucci wasn’t just “fired,” but was escorted from the White House. CBS White House reporter Jackie Alemany, after the news broke of Scaramucci’s ouster, wrote on Twitter, “Anthony Scaramucci was escorted from White House grounds today after ouster, per source familiar with the scene.” Similarly, CNN’s Jeff Zeleny claimed that he also had knowledge of Scaramucci’s unceremonious removal from the White House and reported a similar story. Speaking with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin, Zeleny said: “We are told by our producers, our team, that he was escorted off. That’s not necessarily unusual. If someone is no longer working here, he has no reason to be here. We are told he was escorted off the property earlier this afternoon. The question is what happens next?” Zeleny also intimated that Scaramucci was removed from his position by new Chief of Staff John Kelly, who was displeased over Scaramucci’s “lack of discipline.”
