Scalping ???

1. ptt,

I do have adequate execution speed. Information travels from the USA to here at lightspeed, so there's no difference.

The overseas problem is other than that - What would the tax implications be for me, buying an exchange seat in the USA?
And could I even buy one? And could I live there (in the US) If I bought one?

The battle of Scientist =VS= DT-waw is to be continued at the choice and peril of brother DT-waw; I have proposed peace, it is up to him.

Peace,
~Scientist

2. You're right. It's your thread. You're welcome to be referee! :)

Don't worry - I'm sure you'll get to learn a lot in this flaming contest. Just listen to what I've got to say and do the opposite of what DT-waw has to say, and you'll be way ahead of the game.

Everybody place their bets... :D

Sincerely,
~Scientist

hawker is asking to get back on topic, I think a few pages of 'explanation' off topic is probably enough already..

I do think scalping is the most difficult form of trading when you start.
it becomes the easiest one afterward imho.

scalping is not ultra short term trading. it's about volatility trading as opposed to directional trading.

although I am talking about scalping futures here (this is the futures forum after all). scalping stocks, I don't know how to do it so my comments might not apply to them.

It's only an internet message board. I generally do not believe performance claimed on discussion forums. In your case:
"my long-term average (including my beginning phase), it's also about in the range of 2pts",
"Yes, I can have no losing days If I'm scalping very short-term",

- extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Sure it's not possible over the internet board. But at least you can see what the particular person is saying, how he responds, etc. to make your judgments. I've just highlighted some of your words. Anyone can browse through your posts and check whether quotes are out of context, check your writing style in connection with your claims. I'm not making an idiot out of you, I've never said you're one, more: I wrote that you seem to be a rational person. Anyone will have their own opinion.

I (and everybody else) have the right to not believe in what you claim. We also have the right to believe you. I must admit I'm not a scalper, I've tried to scalp NQ stocks in summer 2001 without any success. Anyone can listen to your tips regarding scalping, Scientist, so you can share your knowledge and experience. People interested in scalping can try it in real world. IF it would work for them - great. I don't have any problem with that.
