What else that a trader can master than to concentrate on a single stock? GE is the one that have high liquidity and low volatility that allow you to sleep calmly, not C as right now (high liquidity and high volatility). Why not SPY? Because SPY is the market as a whole, not a single company that let a trader to quickly overview its business and balance sheet.
