Scalping is considered risky because of the high frequency of trades involved. Whenever we think of scalper, we usually think of someone making tons of trades in a day. Choosing these many profitable trades is not an easy task. It is obvious that no one wins all the trades they place but you can’t avoid broker’s fees even if you fail at a trade. Now imagine if you are failing at 50 trades out of a hundred then you are not only missing out on the profit of those 50 trades but you have to pay spreads and commissions from the profits you achieved through another 50 trades. So, over all the money you made is not worth the efforts and stress unless your broker charges low fees.
Scalping is risky because as a trader you need to trade on very short time frame for which you would need a very careful technical analysis and with this you need a lot of funds and if you don't have that you will have to use leverage to have calculated amount of returns. and of course leverage is way to risky.
I don't understand why scalping would be more risky than any other type of trading. You are not holding anything overnight so the risk of an event happening while you can't trade is gone. What other risk is there to be concerned about that doesn't exist with other types of trading?
It is not more risky. It is actually safer. Scalping being more risky is a myth and mis-conception traders have had drilled into their brains..And it is based upon false viewpoints of “noise” in the market. And the extremely false concepts that they are random. Do we know why traders suscribe to the concept of “noise and “that markets are random?” It is easy to understand why if we just think through it. See, all this B.S. is deep wired. Think about it. It is far easier to talk and forecast, possible, likely, probable, weather this afternoon than say weather a month from now. Can anyone guess why? Think about it. Money is only at risk “when” it is IN THE MARKET. LOGICALLY what does that imply for scalping vs long term trading? Think about it. Scalping increases trading opportunities for the session. Think about it. Scalping enhances the opportunity for compounding. Think about it. The market gives and the market takes away. Scalping lets one lock in profits. (Remember the story….bird done sh$t and gone). Think about it. Scalping enhances profit potential. For instance, say the ES moves up 40 points. And a trader gets in when the move starts and he captures the entire 40 points. Successful scalping will render him much more in points because there will be many PB’s, many overlaps of bars that can be traded, many probings by bullish and bearish firms that can be traded…etc It isn’t likely the 40 point move will happen on one 5 min bar. It can but that would be abnormal. Think about it. Why don’t more traders scalp? I will qualify something. Scalping I see as 1 to 8 points in the ES on normal days, with most being in the 2 to 4 point range. On volatile days it can be bigger. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT a one or two tick scalp.
Just to slow. Too uninformed. 50/50 coin flip, negative skew, late participation....leads to interpretation scalping can't be done. Sort of hilarious... Scalp just a few moments ago. An averaged down trade. Starting at left: Multiple contracts first entry short, added same amount contracts second entry short, added same amount contracts 3rd entry short. Bar 13:05 forgot to move SL on one of the entries so stopped out on that one entry. But immediately added the same amount back so on same bar (13:05) back to my position size before the loss. Then set PT and waited for exit on all the positions bar 13:25. Exited with a good profit in spite of making a mistake on the one entry. It just can't be done........so goes the song. Scalping is a losing game....(chorus). Problem is the song is theoretical and made up.
Um ...moments later another short scalp for 2 points... multiple contracts. Entry short bar 13:55 Exit bar 14:05. It can't be done...It can't be done. Ya'll hear that now! It is so hilarious it is starting to get funny. Ya'll watch for them liquid products like ES. "You are too slow. You are too uniformed. You will lose." Translation they will eat your lunch...ROFLMAO I think I heard that song...SOMEWHERE. I just turn the radio off....so to speak.
It is obvious it can not be done, other wise this forum would be full of winners. It may work occasionally in an upward biased market, but not in Forex.
Lol. Volpri is literally printing money above you -yet it "cant be done". Starting to think this forum is incapable of processing blatant data.
Are you that dumb? Look at his time stamp, it is after the fact and he is 2 hours ahead in Honduras. Like I said, try that in an unbiased market like Forex, get smoked.
