scalpers

  1. Then there is low frequency, high precision scalping, what I do. A better term for it could be poaching.
I normally trade in a 2-max4 hours time window in a day, with 3-4 trades max. per day.
I only take trades after identifying situations where a reasonable possibility of setting a SL of 2.5 pips (2.5 + 0.5 commission + 1 pip expected slippage makes a total of 4 pips calculated loss if the trade goes south) is given. There I enter with 1:100 or 1:200 effective leverage and go for a target of 6-20 pips depending on the market.
The strategy to identify high probability situations with momentum and possible tight SL is heavily based on statistical analysis.

Scalping requires a quick reaction in transactions and the ability to quickly analyze the market. It also requires constant monitoring of the situation, unlike medium-term trading. Therefore, there are also negative aspects of such trading, when constant presence in the market and frequent transactions can weaken attention and cause fatigue, which will lead to frequent mistakes and unprofitable transactions. The broker is also important, or rather its conditions: minimal spreads and instant execution. I know that most brokers for EURUSD have a spread of about 0.01-0.02. I traded at FXOpen and Interactive Brokers and such conditions for scalping are excellent there.

I make profit at times but sadly to say that I am not consistent in making profit from the market.

I think that most traders are like that. No one can make 100% profitable trades. There will always be losses that are part of trading. The main thing here is that the profit covers the losses for some period of trading, then such trading will ultimately be profitable.
