They are ridiculous example to you but unfortunately real to me. I am looking for suggestion here: On some option positions, I could not get out even when offered to sell at bid because my lot size was >> than bid size? I got some small fill then bids got lower, effectively I was moving the market. I suppose I could sell all at once at market and be at the mercy of the market maker? So, often I "scaled out" over a period of time to avoid selling/buying "at market". If that is inferior how can I improve?
"Scaling out" is inferior behavior AND "Scaling out" is superior behavior For some, the first one works for them. For others, the 2nd one works for them. Whatever works for you you just continue with what you are doing. There are simply many ways to skin a cat. for me, I choose the 2nd one.
Generally speaking...saying there's only ONE WAY to do anything is inferior behavior. Don't you think so Buy1Sell2?
Reader--quick reminder--you can make money scaling in and scaling out, however it will be inferior to the results that you will obtain by not engaging in these practices. BONECRUSHER has the wrong end of the stick and takes the word "inferior" as a personal slight.
No insult here. I'm actually with you on this one for the most part. I don't scale in or out on any of my day trading...never have. I do have a swing gold trade that I only do any scaling with is when volatility is low...like summer vol. I have 8 years of proving this works best (including stats) to back this up. I just think you're too full of yourself to realize that scaling of any degree is inferior behavior when you do it...doesn't mean it is for others. Anyway, I think most traders on this site would agree that any behavior considered "inferior" in such a competitive endeavor as trading would mean inevitable failure.
Again, you are reacting on a personal level and not evaluating properly. "Inferior" means you are being inferior to yourself.
