SBF to Testify in Fraud Trial After Onslaught From Inner Circle
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...l-after-onslaught-from-inner-circle#xj4y7vzkg
    • Former crypto mogul fighting portrayal as criminal mastermind
    • Decides to go for risky move often avoided in criminal cases
Sam Bankman-Fried will take the stand to defend his actions in the lead-up to the collapse of his digital-asset empire, after taking a beating from former colleagues who painted him as the mastermind of a years-long scheme to defraud customers and investors.

Bankman-Fried’s lawyers told the judge on Wednesday that their client will testify in his own trial when they start their case later this week.

Bankman-Fried, the once respected crypto mogul, is facing decades in prison on charges that he directed the transfer of FTX customer money into Alameda Research, an affiliated hedge fund, for risky investments, political donations and expensive real estate before both companies spiraled into bankruptcy last year.

While defendants often avoid testifying — a move that can easily cause more harm than good — it’s one of Bankman-Fried’s final defense options after facing weeks of damaging testimony from former members of his inner circle.

Restock your popcorn supply, SBF is gonna testify!:

"Bankman-Fried will likely testify over Thursday and Friday, Cohen said. Federal prosecutors said they would rest their case Thursday morning."

Time to place our bets onto how much time everyone thinks he will get. He will be sentenced next Thursday, so in the amount of years, how many years do you think Sam BankmanFried will serve?

    I'm going to say 8!

  4. Again... Wolf of Wall Street got less than 24 months... and he got to spend that time wining and dining in a min-security prison and play tennis all day when not watching TV.

Oh, he was also allowed to write his book to fill his bored time as well (which he did).

So in the end... what did it matter?

Are you fucking high? The defense has yet to present its case -> SBF is scheduled to testify... and he's going to be tried, convicted and sentenced in a week?

You're both r*tarded. It's a jury trial. Literally MONTHS will pass before sentencing, once convicted.

Pekelo stated the prosecution will rest their case... he DID NOT state the trial is ending. He DID NOT state the will be sentenced on a Thursday. Any Thursday. The defense begins to call witnesses AFTER the prosecution rests... ON THURSDAY.

The defense's case is the second act of a criminal trial. Bro.

You may dethrone vince for dumbest mofo on this site.

  8. He’s getting double that, at least. Time for you, one time, to take a shower, get dressed and give the Fortnite, Mountain Dew and Skittles a rest.

I wish he'd get doubled in Rikers but alas it's Federal.

Oh man, I can't imagine that helping him AT ALL. His defense team must be banking on his perceived boyish charm to waylay the jury, but I hear and smell a backfire coming. He's running full rich and has no catalytic converter.
