The idea that those who choose not to have kids should move to a shitty part of town where school taxes are lower is preposterous. School taxes make up an otherwise very small proportion of the total cost allocated to all not just parents. Single-adult homes now make up 30% in the US. Even among adults 55 and older 19% are childless. The rate is much higher among younger adults. Those are life choices people make. Why do we need to pay for families who breed especially many children, or better question, why don't they have to pay a surtax. Some countries go as far as even paying handouts to families with kids, the more kids the higher the payout. And no, my neighborhood is not safer with many kids, nor is it better or more pleasant. In fact most kids are incredibly annoying, uneducated, and most likely will be mediocre participants in society. If parents had to pay for their own children then perhaps many would rather not have children in the first place which is a good thing for everyone involved.
We can probably Spend the money more effectively but it doesn’t change the value of public education and the taxes that fund it.
You narrowed the entire issue to funding of public education when this is just a small part of the total cost to society. Nobody questioned good education as long as the payers of it are the actual beneficiaries. You moved the goal posts again. If you so strongly believe in the benefits of making everyone pay for others' children then you must be ecstatic about seeing your tax dollars used for student loan forgiveness.

Since people don’t care about their kids wellbeing, is it better to have abandoned children roaming the streets begging and stealing? That experiential has not faired well in areas like Africa, India, Brazil, etc. America will see how parents behave about having kids now that abortions are illegal. There is empirical evidence that in 20 years those states will become shitholes. We were specifically talking about taxes for education and health care. Have we broadened the scope to other child suppport like food programs? I suspect that’s a more difficult position to hold unless you are a hardcore libertarian but that would run counter to your arguments about dividends - lying clearly hasn’t stopped you before.

If others can't afford to pay for their own kids then they should not have any. Simple as that. Whether that includes all cost or just the cost of education is irrelevant in that context. Yeah but money aside, whether it is spent effectively or we just spend more (to provide the same product achieved with less but more astute spending)... it doesn't matter. It's the family structure. The home. It's not our schools (in aggregate) that are lacking, it's the parents.
I agree. And I don't think it's the right way forward for irresponsible or incapable parents to receive incentives to breed offspring. It produces mostly bad outcomes.
Well, it is what it is though. I don't have an answer for the bigger picture, but I do firmly believe opportunities still abound for kids raised by parents that actually give af about... being parents.
