Say you got 30 k, Say you can trade too, you won't be making money with IB

Discussion in 'Order Execution' started by G for God, May 6, 2009.

  1. Well if you think IB is expensive, try TOS.
I get to pay >7500 to trade crude.
4k to trade TF. And they just reduced that from 5500.
    And >5600 To trade ES.

Cap it off with a $7 Round trip commision

But nonetheless, money is still being made.

  3. Whats the difference between trading 1 contract on 7500 margin and trading 1 contract on $500 margin? Your mother.

Interesting. Their site indeed says that they have a day trading margin of 500$, whereas the overnight margins are set by the exchange. But aren't all margins set by the exchange?

    check the CME requirements

How can they give margins that are less than these?

the part that tells me where to find some info about that on the site.
Thanks, it took me a while but I got it. They also seem to be fairly platform independent. I'll keep it in mind.
