Say what you want about the Wave...

  1. Thanks for your example Jolly. I recognize my question grossly oversimplifies the concept of multiples.

    Good luck today.

  4. Wow caught some great Waves in Hawaii - maybe that is where they should leave them - which is what someone mentioned earlier.

Studying the work of Elliott is about reading sentiment and I agree once ego takes over you are doomed , just like any trader - this is what happened to Prechter in 1987 - ego took over and he misinterpreted to suit his argument.

Theories as esoteric as Elliott or Murrey will alwys promote scepticism. Personally I have seen people make a tremendous out of combined strategies of Gann, Elliott, Murrey and the lessons learnt from floor trading. The key is everyone one of these was prepared to learn from these theories and took a bit out of them.

Being a great trader is about learning and knowing the market changes ALL the time - some of these posts crack me up and no wonder so many leave shaking their heads.

Years ago I learnt to listen and learn and don't knock there is always something there - even if it is this - maybe these theories are self fulfilling or maybe they are the cause of many whip lashes - there is always something to learn just like any failed breaks etc

Again like all trading & gambling it is understanding the theory of probability and risk control that sees you through it! If trading was that simple as some suggest in these rooms, wouldn't everyone be on the beach watching the waves come in?

    Salute!

  5. Frederick,AMEN. There is hardly a human alive that you can't learn something from and noon alive you can learn everything from. Think of J. P. morgan and the shoeshine boy.

  7. Exactly Doubter - often those who don't want to learn are scared of being exposed too learning and of where there knowledge or abilities really are.

As J.P. Morgan showed you never know where that little pearl of wisdom can come from.

As any good trader knows -

    'Expect the unexpected!"

  9. Chasinfla, great picture. Having lived around bears most of my life I would say he is probably dead. Symptoms are he's holding still, floating on his back, and bloated. But as was said, expect the unexpected.
