Saving Darfur

  1. China won't let the UN do anything about Darfur, and of course the UN obfuscates the Muslim on Christian rape & violence aspect. Then, we have a few outspoken liberal dunces here in the US urging the US or anyone to do something; these are people like Don Cheadle who have the means to go to Darfur, but not the guts to stay there and join the raped and enslaved fight back.

  2. It's all such bullshit. If the world is to ever get serious about these kinds of things, and is earnest about not letting something like Rwanda happen again, then there needs to be a standing UN armed force, a quick reactionary force, that should be deployed and create protective encleaves for those being slaughtered. No more politics.

Since noone wants to take the fight to the bad guys, hire some mercenaries.

    Just fucking do it.

But, being the UN, that will never happen. :(

  3. and guess where those hundreds of billions of tax dollars, OUR tax dollars, are going towards? right into the pockets of halliburton, boeing, lockheed and any other war profiteer. guess who gets kickbacks from those companies? not you and me but those sitting in the senate and white house. most people are willing to do anything for $200MM a day, even if it means prolonging the war and causing more soldiers to die.

and if iraq gets back on its feet, guess who has first dibs on their oil? that's right! the american oil companies. guess who gets all the contracts for reconstruction? bingo, the american construction companies.

the war was never about liberating the iraqi people. it is all about financial and/or political gain and always will be. we aren't in darfur because the profit potential isn't worth it and also because our resources are tied up at the moment.

and to be fair, the usa is by far the wealthiest nation on the planet so we naturally will be targeted for donations. don't you think bill gates gets tons of requests for donations? yes it would be nice if other countries gave out free lunches but no one gives out free lunches, not even us.
