Big demand for gold in Saudi Arabia: "RIYADH: Police arrested a middle-aged Saudi man who robbed 15 kilograms of gold from a jewelry salesman in the Naseem district of Riyadh on Saturday, press reports said yesterday. Officers tracked the suspect to his home in the district and retrieved some of the loot from his car, Al-Watan newspaper reported."
It's really the G8, noone gives a flying f**k about the other 12 countries. In fact, it's really China, Russia and Germany making demands, so might as well call it G4. Here is another tidbit, US has been postponing the G8 for months & months, to let election get through and put Obama in place. So basically they pushed it to the G20, but like I said, noone gives a shit about most of nations in that meeting. You're right, I did fail the test, even though I have known this for almost two months, suspected it for years. Been prepping myself for months, as well as advicing my family on what to do and whatever friends will listen. Still laughing at "re-monatize the money system" statement.
I agree that the G-whatever will ultimately be forced to declare a worldwide bankruptcy, I don't think it's going to be all that soon. And, I certainly don't think there's some pan-global, pan-generational conspiracy to accumulate the world's wealth. But, there will be informed opportunists with the appropriate resources, influence and capital to maximize the situation. Suffice to say, in order to reach the point of a worldwide default and associated re-monetization the way to maximize that to one's benefit is to first deflate hard asset values low enough so that the weak hands are forced to close out their holdings. Real estate, commodites, et al have to fall a good bit further so that they can accumulate the most possible under the current monetary regimes and then gain through reflation of prices after the new currencies are deployed. IMHO, of course...
Agreed. In the scheme of things, we're going to be much better off after it all goes over the edge anyway. And better off than a lot of other places. We've got a lot of farmland, everyone's got to eat. We've got a lot of decaying infrastructure, which will create a lot of work. And, we've got a pretty damned strong military. Food, jobs, security. It's not like we'd be starting from scratch after it all goes tits-up.
