Not email evidence I'm referring to but time stamps of his posts. It was concluded that Satoshi was likely in the Pacific time zone, so that does line up with Hal very well. I find the topic fascinating, but I also respect the idea that it should be left alone.
There have been lots of reports by many different people, and they even did an analysis of who it can likely be like Hal, or Nick Szabo, or other suggestions. The interesting part is that they say Satoshi wasn't the best coder or cryptographer, I forget which, but he did put it all together after all. You can of course purposefully post a few inaccuracies in order to lead the trail away from you, like he did at some points where he says "we", but it would be pretty dumb to use worse code in the final product if you can actually do it better. If you're interested Schizo, here was a good article where Lopp did an analysis of the early blocks that were mined... https://blog.lopp.net/was-satoshi-a-greedy-miner/
Clearly Satoshi was a group of ppl with multiple ppl having access to an email and usenet server. Hal was it. He wrote the paper. Those addresses are lost.
I'm not sure if I ever saw someone suggest this. All his writing followed the same pattern of grammar and spelling mistakes, etc. Perhaps he was the front man, and as you suggest the one who wrote the paper, but I think if its a group of people, it would be very difficult to keep everyone quiet all this time.
Interestingly,he's been cryopreserved. What makes it tricky for me is that ALS isnt a sudden death disease. Would have thought a smart guy with an awareness of what value he was sitting on would have had contingency plans in place for wealth transition. If only for his family.
BTC was $400 at the time. Apparently he paid for the cryo out of pocket bc life insurance was unavailable due to ALS.
Satoshi can simply move coins from his wallet in a verified way. Yet no one claiming to be Satoshi has done this.
