it is the law of large numbers catching up to HFT. it is not surprising. it has nothing to do with so called deemed low volatility. there are still many high frequency traders making a comfortable living.
Can't make money without their false structural edge and front running 'Flash' and PR select orders. It was just structural/tech edges and front running - forget this Math whizz algo propaganda. Couldn't really trade their way out of a wet paper bag.
