  5. a bit of agony yesterday as i watched a perfectly good setup slip past my fingers because of my blind faith in my murrey math calculator("it didn't trade the 1/8ths!!!!it didn't touch the coveted line!!!).

In spite of my pigheadedness, the trade worked to perfection...

Too bad my execution wasn't as good as my system!

Well, my demo month went as well as expected. By cutting back my risk to zero, I could focus only on my system and remove money from the equation to regain my confidence, and it worked.

I was able to derive a trailing stop method to catch those 5 or 6 monster moves a year which the raw methodology of my system doesn't show too well. This will supplement the average 500 pips I draw a month using targets and stops.

I'll continue posting using the model account of 2k. My goal is to increase to 3 lots by February. As of the opening of trading today, I had a 70% success rate on my posted trades. I am pleased with this result.

My hope is that this journal becomes somewhat boring and predictable. Ho hum, another month of 500 pips on 10 trades. I dream of the struggle to keep interest once my system has been ingrained so deeply into my head.

  6. Hello,

I've been following your journal. I do not trade forex, but it is very interesting to me. I don't have VT, so your indicators are foreign to me. I trade with IB, and it is not an ideal trading platform for forex.

Anyways, before I digress any further. From reading your trading plan, I didn't see how the MM have anything to do with the entry. I thought you only use the MM to get your target profit. And any idea on what daimyo is based on, as I would like to apply it to stocks and see if I can use it?

Keep up the good work, man.

  7. thanks for your kind words.

don't waste anytime with IB if you want to trade forex spot. only trade futures with them.

please reference my current reversal system here not at the beginning of the thread.

rules are rules, murrey makes some damn fine lines. its fun to beat myself up when things don't line up perfect everytime. but fitting a MML frame on top of an daimyo signal excellent filter. what filter is 100% accurate? therefore a little discretion is necessary. the last setup was about 10 pips above the 1/8th line, it was in a valid range for a trade but it wasn't perfect. if the trade was wrong that 10 pips would have been added to an 80 pip stop loss. In this case the trade went for about 200 pips profit. The rr was decent, i should have made the trade. no sense beating myself up about it though. the next trade will probably work out too. I will trade that one!

and here is the reference to the daimyo code in VT language

  8. murrey math calculator available free on the web. please disregard all previous calculators as they are not scaleable according to the current price.

you can enter the exact number, you no longer have to omit whole numbers.

for example, enter 1.9170 for GBP/USD not 9170

Also, disregard the text about the Dow. the excel spreadsheet was written for Dow traders, but it works the same for ANY market.

Happy New year and good trades to all, even to Soros:p
