  1. What patterns have you been playing today?

  2. A bit of everything. Just to build up some supporting case for the trade.
Divergence - naz was strong ES holding and ER was weak. Time frame was right. Market is due for a pullback but not going to let everyone jump on short.

As usual I knew Er was going up 4 pts and took profits early and booked only a 1/4. Hey I'm learning.

  3. Been playing off Stoh's this morning in this sideways market. Nothing huge just 2 tick scalps. 1356.50 is the magnet for this AM.

Very interesting....Do you find that the NQ's lead the rest of the futures as nasdaq seems to lead a lot of the broader market?

  6. No Sometimes it leads sometimes it lags. Divergence does not have any hard rules. And there are plenty of fakeouts along the way.

Each timeframe divergence is different so you have to study them in that context. For example the morning divergence 9:30 to 10:00 then the 10:30 divergence, the divergence when a strong trend its to start. the divergence on a pullback on the main trend. The fakeout divergence when a trend is running. The divergence at the end of a trend. There are so many and each emini acts differently at those points.

I guess by now I know of some divergences that occur for a down trend day or a 10:30 reversal so it all pieces together.

    Yep market looks weak.

the timing was just too perfect this time for my short entry, so short only 1/4 max position. 240 TF is looking pretty solid for short continuation. I am seeing early bullish divergence signals on 15 min TF, but I doubt that they will provide reversal to the upside right here.

Do you not consider adding to a winning position to be valid on these trades?

I don't, but not saying it's bad practise on the other hand. I suppose I would perhaps scale in with 50% of initial position, but since initial is only 1/4 of my max allocation to a swing trade, I am going to do nothing, but wait and either collect a smaller return this time, if this is the pullback anticipated or I am going to add higher.
