Hi 5, I hope you don't think I am stalking you picking arguments! I find your posts very intresting. (How about running a thread on Delta for a while?) Anyway, I know you didn't 't ask me but I think that there is a commomn misconception that +ve delta = 'buying', I'm not sure that is the case as I wrote:- http://blog.marketdelta.com/?cat=4 Personally I am still tinkering with how best to view delta (currently just trying a plot of total delta) Its all about how much information you want (see attached). You seem to be using bar to bar delta normalised to -100 to +100? Intresting to see your charts with divergence....I have found that hidden (or reverse) divergence tends to signal a change too. With conventional indicators that would be continuation. It certainly provides information that is not available from simple price or volume but as the other poster I am not sure whethe its improving my trading - still only watched it for a couple of months. Cheers, Nick.
Boybrutus, Can I ask how easy is it to code things such as MD and others in esignal EFS. Will it be very difficult for a non-programmer and someone who doesn't like IT much? Thanks
Blowfish, Are you the same blowfish that registered in Kreslik's website? If so have you ever used their TRO and how do you find it? Thanks
Hi biilp, In answer to your two questions:- When I last used Esignal there was some script for volume and ask and volume at bid...it plotted as a red and green histogram. I think even for a not programmer it wouldn't be too hard to change it to plot how you liked. Yes I registered at Kreslik not so long ago. Some intresting (and simple) ideas. Cheers, Nick. P.S> Eurex down again! post here or take the morning off?
Blowfish, Thanks. I've not been able to try out Kreslik's ideas as I've recently changed my esignal subscription to the basic one. Thus, am not able to use their advanced chart which is needed to run these charts and EFS studies. I've tried to look at some of their formulas and charts to derive the logic behind it. However, can't really tell for sure whether I'm reading it right without running the charts and understanding better the programming logic. Have been thinking whether I should subscribe back esignal to premier for 1 month just to test them out. That's why I'm so keen to hear from those that have tried it out.
It was a simple calculation of difference in contracts hitting the bid and ask. No fancy charts like 5P with color coded delta at multiple levels. PM me an email if you want it. You could chart this value to see the shifts but you would need a bit of EFS knowledge, coding is not difficult, you just use other EFS for reference. I think 5Ps Market delta is about $70 month, 6 ticks
Boybrutus, Thanks. Have pm you with email. Nope, the cost has increased quite a fair bit. No more $70.
John, That was me that said a chart is a chart. Yes I can trade my style in every market I have attempted so far. But you are correct every market or stock has their own little quirks that you have to figure out. I notice it from stock to stock, market to market. That is why it is important to master a method tha you will be comfortable with when you visit other markets. Be able to make small adjustments to your method and keep trading.
There are several more advanced "delta" reading techniques and I see some are covered in that great blog link you have provided....a positive "net" delta can have different implications in context of the previous prior delta bars. Sometimes strong positive "net" delta bars are exhaustion and sometimes they are strong bars as a result of several price levels of offers that were rapidly lifted.....so the first candle may be real narrow range and the second real long with the same delta reading. These observations can be found through "pattern recognition" over time from using the delta or they will be immediately understood with a solid foundation in Auction Market Theory (Market Profile price action fundamentals). Explain for me the question you have about my delta being set at +100/-100.....that question I am not understanding.....thanks.
John ---- no problem, take your time and ask any question when you are ready. Yes, I also traded the news and hit a decent trade....I was glad we did get some reaction.
