  1. Het guys who are you using for your charting. I started looking at my bank statement and noticed that I am paying $146 a month for E-Signal and all I get are futures.

I've been following this excellent thread for sometime now. A lot of good stuff here.
Try www.ensignsoftware charting, it's only $39 per month fed by IB. There is a 7 days free trial with excellent technical support. No affliation, just a happy user. Good luck

Thank you, I will take a look at them. Are they pretty user friendly with all the charting tools? I like that price...

I use Medved QT with IQ Feed for charting, absolutely brilliant and very reliable feed, software is $7 p/m or free with ads, CME and feed would cost you about $65 p/m. If only my order entry soft was as reliable I would have a perfect set-up. There are people out there that say QT is inappropriate for serious traders...I say it's fantastic and do not care what others say, I've been using it for quite a while (daily with PC switched on 24/7 pretty much) and have not yet experienced 1 system crash or had to restart, I think I had a problem with IQ Feed once and I just had a day off that day. But I tell you I did have some serious problems with software that costs a lot of money and here you have this freebie and it is rock solid.

Interactive Brokers has recently done an incredible job of upgrading their charting. I've started using their charts and have been very pleased. You of course would have to have an acct. with them, but you can place your orders on the charts and they have most of the major indicators. Recommend them highly in all respects. Haven't had any untold problems other than the ones I've caused myself.

  5. Medved QuoteTracker with IQ Feed is $20/mo for basic service. Each exchange requires their own delays. CBOT and CME are 10 min. If you want real time feeds, CME charges another $24/mo, while CBOT is free.

I'm thinking I can deal with a 10 min delay if I'm looking for the s / r and potential setups, and get the latest 10 minutes from the trading platform. I'm not sure if this is what others do or if they pony up the extra fees for real time service on the various exchanges they may trade.

Are you accustomed to having real time charts?

Oh yeah, I gotta have real time. I can visualize a lot of things but not trades.

  7. medved QT is FREE if you use Interactive brokers data feed and if can put up with with a small banner ad they put in the middle of the screen. Esignal is overpriced POS, I stopped using that POS long time ago.

I go through Quote Tracker for charts and use Interactive Brokers for the real time data and IQ Feed for backfill. IB will give you 1 week of backfill but I get other symbols (advance decline, up/down vol, etc. through IQ that you can't get through IB). If you go through QT the IQ feed is only $20 (originally $50) and QT is $7/month, total $27/month. You can download a free version to check out the product. The free version will have the ads but it will give you a look at the product. When you download the software it will have a number of data feeds that you may already. I recommend the setup above...it works.

The best thing about this company is the customer service! I'm sure anyone that uses it will agree. You can't get any better customer service that QT. You can email customer support on a Saturday night and he will get back to you probably that night if not within the hour. He will also help you set if necessary.

    Hey Guys,
Well I have learned quite a bit today about different charting services out there. Thank all you guys for filling me in on this. I still have about 3 weeks left to make a decision so keep sending me more.

I have also learned that a lot of people that I don't know are looking through this thread. Feel free to come in here and post a comment if you have any. I don't care if you are new to trading or an old timer. None of us claim to be the next Dan Zanger or anything. We are just a group of regular folk comparing notes for the most part.

Here are my numbers for tomorrow. First let me say the long sid ewas kind of tricky because you have to remember that I am trying to get 2 points out of this trade. There are a lot of areas all the way up that have congestion in them the farther left you look. These made the most sense to me any way.

Also remeber if at first you don't succeed. Try a pinch of snuff between your cheek and gums.

    Long 1285.75

    Short 1276.50

    Thanks and good trading tomorrow,
    Gary:D

I am surprised you are in the medical field and are suggesting that
using chewing tobacco might be helpful to anyone. It causes Cancer...:(
