Axis, Benvenuto. Like most people on here, I too use eSignal for charting and highly recommend them--especially the advanced charts thru the premier package. My broker is PFG but I would not recommend them. In fact, I'm in the process of selecting a new broker which is a major pain in the neck. Infinity Brokerage contacted me and offered $5 R/T (all in) for all eminis and $500 day trading margins. I currently pay $6 all inclusive. Velocity Futures has gotten high marks from a lot of people and they have very good commission rates, too. I think they start at $5 R/T and go down from there depending on volume and which platform you choose. Another ET member said that she uses PFG but went through JR Futures as the introducing broker and gets $3.90 R/T. Finally, Interactive Brokers is pretty popular here. They've got really low commissions--$4.26 R/T (all in) for the mini Dow and $3.30 for ES, NQ. I'm fiddling around with their demo acct right now trying to see how I like the interface and platform. So far so good. Except for that 15 min delay, though. If you want a good sim acct for any reason, PFG has a good one with realtime quotes and pretty good execution. Its just their live accounts that aren't up to par. Addio, Boro
we don't have as much $ as you yankees Anyway, what I think might happen is a typical price action following wrb formation, scare some into closing their positions by dropping the bids and around 50% down of the wrb body ES would start going up. I will increase position once/if it retreats as I mentioned earlier on. But I think we'll keep advancing today at least.
Boro, So far this morning my puts have come up in value very nice. I am hoping all the fund managers decide to sell off before the holiday. Anything under 38.50 I'll decide whether to bail or not.
Nicely done. There's one reason not to sell back cheap options. Meant to ask you earlier, what is the timeframe on the ES chart for today? Looks like it might be hourly or even 2 hour candles.
A question about the open for all you experts. If I were to place a limit order a few seconds before the ES open, what margin do you think that my broker would apply. The day margin ( 500.00) or the overnite margin. say 20 seconds prior
It should be the daytrade margin. It should be the day margin anytime after the cash settlement. Which means if you wanted to trade 2 am you should be able to as well. As long as you close your position by 3:15 P.M. 4re
Boro, That was an accident. I believe that is a hourly chart. I look at it in several different times but I usually upload the 15 day 15 minute chart. Sorry about that. 4re
What a boring day so far. It started out with some excitement but sure has dwindled. I think this thing could pop after lunch. If I have this drawn correctly should pop down as soon as we get some volume. Notice how tight the BB's have gotten. I hope all the institution guys haven't packed it in for the long weekend. What do you think.... 4re
Time will tell. As I'm flying without instruments today (read: charts), I'm at a disadvantage but would imagine the big boys have closed up shop and are heading out to the Hamptons for a long weekend.
