i am relatively new to futures, and have been reading and researching the es the past couple of weeks, here on et and through other sources. i was wondering what are some differences when deciding which to trade? i know the s&p is a much larger contract, but i dont know any specifics. a 1 point move in the es is +$50, what is a 1 point move in the s&p? what kinds of traders trade each? do they mirror each other, and if so, are the strategies applied to each reflective? basically, i just wanted some more info on the two, for any of yall out there who dont mind sharing this basic stuff. thanks.

The biggest difference is that the big car is traded in the pit between 8:30 and 3:15 CST.

They do mirror each other as there are arbs keeping them inline, and I have them both up.

If you are going to trade ES, I recommend that you start out by trading 100 shares of SPY first.
