Up until now I have always daytraded the FTSE but I have decided to give daytrading the American markets a try. I have back tested my system on a years worth of historical data and it seems to give quite good results on both the nasdaq and the s&p. The one thing I was wondering was if someone with a bit of experience in these markets can please tell me what is the best times of the day to daytrade these markets? as from my own experience daytrading the European markets there are time in the day when the market just goes flat and any other useful information would also be great as I cannot decide which one to trade first as the results for both markets are virtually the same

Any help would be most appreciated

    Thanks

I always assumed it was the other way around the European markets followed the American markets once the the American markets had opened.

    Thanks

Unless you are going to arbitrage between Europe and US, it doesn't matter who leads whom.

Same thing with the debate whether QQQ's, NQ's, or NDX cash index leads... Unless you are going to arb them, it doesn't matter.
