Hopefully you're noting the irony of your post. JS's "call" in early 2004 couldn't have been more fortuitous. The market stayed below that 1150-1160 zone for the next half year.
Pabst, Don't even bother with EqtTrdr. His nonstop "100% up room blah, blah, blah" nonsense is the closest he gets to actual trading.
Looks that way, turns out it isn't his profession after all and that he is a pharmacist, probably with a buy and hold in his 401K but I guess he likes the excitment of posting on ET. Takes all sorts I guess...
The issue with these false top calls , and there have been many, is that daily charts are being used to do the predicting. You can predict a short term top with regard to a few days this way, but it is not accurate when trying to pick tops that will last months etc. -- Recommendation-- Begin using weekly, and more probably monthly, charts to do the predicting and you will have more success. Until such time, I believe the calls made by the OP will continue to be amateurish in nature. Please use this as constructive criticism and not as a personal attack. Thank you for your time. Edit: There will be one time of course when the call from the daily chart will be right and that will be when the real reversal will take place. However, every call prior to that will be wrong as has been demonstrated in this series of threads.
??? Thorn is being congratulated for his great short call on GFIG. The stock is the biggest dollar loser on both exchanges this morning, and Thorn deserves credit for finding it and posting it during market hours.
Just a quick point of order here. The thread title concerns itself with the SP Index not GFIG. Please take my suggestion which comes from years of experience and begin looking at the bigger picture. Thank you again for your prompt attention in this matter.
I'd be inclined to go w Thorn's years of experience over yours. Sorry. Thorn is showing us how he makes money into rising markets that exceed his top forecasts. He shorts stocks that tank $6 a share like he did w GFIG. Congratulations to him!
