S&P Has Topped Or Volente_00 Will Leave Et

  1. I would have waited till after the elections, or at least wait till Nov 6th, then make your call.

I am most certain you will loose, one good earnings report and your outta here.

Bad earnings reports will be ignored, all will say falling energy prices will lend support going forward. Being short right now is a loosers game.

  3. Eventually , a top will be rightly called, and this is what people will remember. In the Investing business, like other forecast endeavor, people have a short memory. So , unless, you actually put your own money on the line, predicting a major top is a good risk/reward scenario, as far as fame is concerned.

guy on bloomberg said if next weeks earnings show good results 12,000 is possible by next Friday. Who knows, Earnings are going to have to be GREEAAAAT not good to keep this market up. A few misses and negative forecasts and the dow is headed back to 11250-11400 area.

There is always a possibility that I am wrong. So far I have been right. If we close above 1360 then you will never see a post from me again. But I promise before 2006 ends, you will see S&P under 1300. There are only 2 ways that I will ever post again if this call fails. Win the Robbins World Cup Challenge in futures or be the first person on ET to show a audited 7 figure 1256 statement from RCG.

  9. Porgie, if you're looking for help here like your post above suggests, I'm perfectly willing to work with you. By your own admission, you don't trade real money. Why is that? What holds you back from smelting your own proverbial pot of gold?

There are only two motivations for humans: pleasure sought or pain avoided. Porgie, I would imagine your refusal to trade falls into the pain avoidance category. That fear of failure is something you can work thru... I'd honestly suggest a couple of Dr. Phil books for you, and you'll be good to go.

BTW... Texas is a lovely state. You are fortunate to be born & raised there. Wouldn't mind having a big ranch spread down in whitetail deer country there myself :>)

    *

Volente, I'd also prefer to see the indexes outright collapse from now thru year's end. That would be great. The easiest and biggest money (by far) is always to the downside. But... we must accept what the market gives us. Hopefully you get what you seek, but let's take "their" money going either direction.

Then again, if my Dolphins fail me, looks like I'm outta here, too :>O

  10. I gotta agree on the top but with a contigency plan. I see a lot of resis at 1356.50-1357.25. The only problem is the pres cycle, its hard to say that this will be a climatic top. I am looking at the short side for a 2-3 day decline and then assess from there. We could really get moving to the upside after the short decline due to the cycle. I am seeing the ultimate top at 1380-1400. Tomorrow is going to be amazing trading. Expecting a range expansion day with a great breakout move. Odds expect a move to the downside but could also bust to the upside. Tomorrow will be one of the days that you dream about and have approximately 4-7 times a month. Capitalize on it!
