S&P futures introduction

...does anyone know when

- S&P 500 futures by CME
and / or
- Dow Jones 30 futures by CBoT

were introduced ?

With which multiplicator was the S&P 500 future introduced ?

btw, I think S&P futures were introduced in 1982, but
I don't know the date and I am still unsure about the year.

 

ES was intro'd mid to late `97, as I recall. The big one was already around.

 

The SP multiplier started at $500 per-point. I think it switched to $250 per-point in Nov. 1998.

 

CME S&P 500 April 21, 1982 - I was there .....

If you mean contract multiplier it currently is 250 ...

If changed from 500 to 250 on November 3rd, 1997 ....

 

They list the start date for most.
