And look at what I just did to a different pair of Maui Jim's! DAMNIT!!!!!!!!! Were in the front seat of my car this morning, and yep, didn't look.. Looks like I'll be finding out just how good is the Maui Jim customer service I hear about. Gonna send these back in the morning. Any guesses on the cost? Am gonna have them replace the grey lenses with the Maui HT lenses anyway since I can't find the other one, and have a new pair with grey. Two plastic lenses, and side fixed. Are $229, and wonder if they'll want more than half to fix... http://www.mauijim.com/shop/en/us/peahi
Anyone have any use for these: http://www.mauijim.com/shop/en/us/olowalu Bought these two weeks ago while my gf was getting the asian nails, and toe thing done, lol. She looked at me, and in her light accent, made a joke about the terminator movie. Ruined me for some reason, as I just won't wear them. Paid $329, and have too many pairs of this particular brand as it is. They're top quality imo. You guys think $225 is about right? I'm not letting them collect dust.
Send them to me and I will tell you what they're worth. ha, I have had a pair and lost those a while back. It's good to have a few pair on hand. I am only wearing the Dillons, but those are very nice. Women wear the dumbest shit imaginable... don't let that sway you.
If Luxottica buys Maui Jim it will be time to look for a new brand-- http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/28/luxottica-licence-idUSL6N0LX39N20140228
Oh yes, she picked out the Pilot Maui Jim's, and that still perplexes me.. And I hate this, but after giving up booze, seems stuff like this, guns, watches, etc., are some kind of weird replacement, I guess. Lol Was about to get in car earlier, and go trade the Olowalu's for a different pair. Had to stop myself and think "no OCD shit," lol. It started with a pair I broke, and now, the damned things are all over the car, house, one for doing the lawn, etc., Help!
Forgot^ When she made that crack about the shades, I took it as a mild compliment being an Arnold reference, but still... Worn them for about 30 seconds after that. Women...:eek:
I really hate to read that as I used to own Ray Ban's, and they're ok I guess, but nothing like Maui Jim. Not even on the same planet! And also hate to admit my past, but while in High School, did manual labor kinda stuff, and worked in logging summers, and weekends. The Husqvarna saws I used were top of the top for raw speed, performance, and pure reliability. Fast forward to now, and the tree guys I hired to help me with my "jungle," told me that "Husky" got in bed with Poulan (spelling?), and of course, the quality that once was is no more. Has zero to do with sunglasses, but is the way things usually wind up with an engulfing like this. Am all for M&A, but will be my last pair of Maui Jim's if they do it. Maui Jim's customer service is the best in the business, and we all know how that will wind up once engulfed... Thanks for bringing to my attention. Will look into a pair of the Dillon's convex mentioned. I love that matte look!
Yeah, no doubt Convexx dillons are very cool. I had never heard of them before--- There was a Maui Jim trunk show at the local sunglass place--- they are good looking glasses with great lenses. I just biught a pair of persols for scrip lenses-- supposedly ideal for the ocean glare, looking forward to trying them on the boat. surf
I looked up the Persols, and liked them well! Very nice! The Dillons will try. I like both of the two! And funny, as I never put together any M&A with Maui Jim, but last night, noticed all of the Ray Ban, Oakley, Maui Jim logos on the millions lol of sunglass stores we have in FL. I just didn't put the thought together, and it hit me like a "wake up dumbass" slap when I saw the signage. Was written all over the place Long before this engulfing was on the table. Damn, I'm slow! Lol
I like these Dillon Optics Colt: http://www.dillonoptics.com/shop/metal-frames/colt.html Wish I could find them in stock.
