  1. This will at least help Carter Page to have a big pay day.

Unbelievable what this Clinesmith scumbad did. The FBI properly went through the motions of checking to see if Page was covertly working with the government which might be a possible explanation of his interactions with some. The answers came back that he was working with CIA. Clinesmith then altered the document/email to say that he was not a source.

    Why did he do that?

    Nevermind.

  4. James Baker. MORE TO COME.

John Durham grills former top FBI lawyer: Report

This fucker- along with McCabe, Comey, and Rosenstein- is right at the epicenter of the DOJ swamp.

I bet he is squirming plenty because he can see and knows that Durham followed the usual fbi methodology of interviewing all of his underlings and cohorts and related documents before interviewing him. Baker does not know what Durham knows and does not know. Therefore, his chances of committing perjury are excellent.

Brennan and Crapper are still sweating bigtime too and for good reason:

According to the CNN report, questions that have been posed to witnesses suggest Durham is investigating whether former CIA Director and former Obama Director of National Intelligence James Clapper “cooked the intelligence” to undermine Trump. Neither Brennan nor Clapper have spoken with Durham's team, but a spokesman for Brennan said he wants to access his CIA records for the interviews. Trump previously blocked him from accessing his personal CIA notes in the context of writing his upcoming memoir.

Trump suggests Clinesmith guilty plea 'just the beginning' of Durham probe fallout
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-clinesmith-guilty-plea-durham-russia-just-beginning

President Trump said Friday the news that former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith will plead guilty to making a false statement is "just the beginning" of the fallout from U.S. Attorney John Durham's review of the Russia investigation.

"That's just the beginning, I would imagine. This... what happened should never happen again," Trump said at a White House briefing Friday afternoon. "You'll be hearing more."

He also called Clinesmith a "corrupt FBI attorney," part of former FBI Director James Comey's "very corrupt FBI."

Clinesmith was referred for potential prosecution by the Justice Department's inspector general's office over an altered email about former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page claiming he was "not a source" for another government agency. Page has said he was a source for the CIA.

The DOJ relied on that assertion as it submitted a third and final renewal application in 2017 to eavesdrop on Page under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Two sources close to the investigation told Fox News on Friday that Clinesmith will plead guilty.

"Kevin deeply regrets having altered the email. It was never his intent to mislead the court or his colleagues as he believed the information he relayed was accurate," Shur said in a statement. "But Kevin understands what he did was wrong and accepts responsibility."

The Department of Justice charging document states the Clinesmith “did willfully and knowingly make and use a false writing and document, knowing the same to contain a materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement and entry in a matter before the jurisdiction of the executive branch and judicial branch of the Government of the United States.”

The charges say that Clinesmith altered another officials email to say that Page, was not a CIA "source," which had not be specified in the original email. Page was infact a CIA informant, which was ommitted in the 2017 FISA warrant.

Durham was appointed by Atttorney General Bill Barr in 2019 to investigate the FBI's origins of the Russia Probe.

“I said the American people need to know what actually happened, we need to get the story of what happened in 2016 and ’17 out. That will be done," Barr said in an interview with Fox News' "Hannity."

Adding that “if people crossed the line, if people involved in that activity violated criminal law, they will be charged.”

Democrats have voiced their concerns that Barr will use his position as AG to go after Trumps "enemies."

In a recent podcast, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif, said Barr “may be using the power of the Justice Department through Durham or others to go after the president's enemies.”

Trump has voiced his vested interest in the case saying that he hopes Durham will not be “politically correct" and added that Barr could go down in history as “the greatest attorney general” or just “an average guy," depending on the outcome of the investigation.

  8. Clinesmith to appear in court today/this week as part of his guilty plea.

The thing I will be watching for is if the DOJ asks for a delay in sentencing so that the DOJ can evaluate the quality and quantity of his cooperation in other ongoing investigations before making a sentencing recommendation.

Let's just say that several well-known swamp-rats will be watching for that too.

    Enjoy!

    MORE TO COME.

It is possible that the plea agreement already contains a recommended sentencing agreement but I have not seen that. I would rather imagine that they want more out of him at this point, not to just to have it over with.

  9. Cliinesmith's guilty plea looks screwy to me.

    Hope the court rejects it.

He stipulates and agrees that he falsified the documents but denies that he had intent to deceive and alleges that he believed it to be true at the time. WTF. You alter a document but believe your alteration was true at the time.

Frig him. Why should the court accept a mess like that. And why would the DOJ allow enter into a plea where the defendant does not acknowledge intent? You can argue that people like Flynn did that but he was strongarmed into pleading because the DOJ lied to him and told him that they had evidence against him which they did not have.

This Clinesmith plea does not look tidy to me. let's see how it goes.

I also don't follow this bit about having the case heard before a judge that also serves on the FISA court when the defendant is accused of defrauding the FISA court. That is not tidy either.
