I truly hope the OP is right in saying that this is the end for Putin. But I don't think it will be. I'm concerned that he will not stop until he reclaims other former Soviet republics. This could become an even greater crisis. Today, Russia threatened Finland for even considering joining NATO. It seems the west is unable or unwilling to confront Russia. The west is much weaker than it was 20 years ago. May God help the people of Ukraine.
If anyone has seen the new WOKE us-army recruiting videos... it makes you wonder where Putin got that idea of the West getting weak. In any case, looks like the Berlin Wall 2.0 will be around Ukraine for now.
I think the best solution would be to impose severe economic sanctions with immediate effect on Russia. And thus impose the same sanctions on all those who continue to cooperate with Russia. Russia is a small market for China... On the other hand, they need their raw materials to feed its economic machine in the rest of the world.
The part that seems unfortunate is the unwillingness so far to ban Oil sales from Russia, even if it's a temporary ban it sends a message. Higher priced Oil is less important the the lives being lost in Ukraine.
%% CONTINUE to monitor the situation. Evil empire leadership[russia] has the character of a king cobra; so sometimes the eagle may delegate the fight king cobra fight to the mongoose. As far as a confrontation\ XOM has a good point quote ''there is an un -needed $20 spec premium in oil'' Personaly i'm putting a lower demand on gas + oil. In wartime, makes perfect sense to limit un-needed capitalist specs in oil.......................................................... I'm a capitalist for sure, just not in favor of unneeded specs in oil like XOM has said. The good news[sarcasm] for russian leadership is the ruble is not exacly 100% rubble , its still worth a bit. Payday some day for any evil empire\like the shorts sellers say ''fundamentals win in the end''
