https://www.thedailybeast.com/russi...like-north-koreans?source=twitter&via=desktop The Soviet grooming that is being implemented by many Russian propagandists is meant to condition the people to the rapid decline in the standards of living to which many of them have become accustomed. The expectations are so dire, Mardan posed a startling question to his economic expert, Denis Raksha: “What are our chances? Do we even have them or not? Will we have to live like South Korea in the 1950s-1960s? Will we end up having to eat fire ants?” Raksha explained that if Russia intends to drastically rebuild its economy in order to be self-sustaining everyday life will become quite difficult, even if Russians won’t have to resort to eating ants. He added: “Currently, the industrialization reminiscent of that of the 19th century or the 1920s-1930s is practically impossible. In that case, we’d have to live not like South Koreans, but like North Koreans.” Concluding the program, Mardan grimly noted: “To everyone who says that Russia should get up off its knees—myself included—my friends, I’m afraid that our former way of life is a thing of the past... It’s practically unavoidable... perhaps we’ll be reflecting upon the past year as our last fat year. On the other hand, a great victory is ahead of us!”
It's gonna take lots of cement and asphalt. And a company nearby with the assets to provide such. $HDELY $12.39 Not that I listen to analysts... but: 8 analysts have issued 12 month target prices for HeidelbergCement's shares. Their HDELY share price forecasts range from $41.00 to $69.00. On average, they predict the company's share price to reach $55.08 in the next year. This suggests a possible upside of 344.3% from the stock's current price. It's been on my "rebuild Ukraine" list now for 6 months. Others: THO ABB CAT (recent) GNRC
The biggest risk and concern is not about Russia winning the Ukraine war (Hint: they already lost) but about Russia collapsing and becoming a failed state. Russia risks becoming a failed state in the next 10 years, analysts say https://www.cnbc.com/2023/01/10/rus...iled-state-in-next-10-years-analysts-say.html
I gotta admit that this is one of the craziest damn things I have seen come out of Camp Putin. Gerasimov is the frigging idiot loser who was the original architect of the Ukraine invasion and loser assault on Kiev. Complete loser. But Vlad just promoted him. The other guy here in the article is General Armageddon, the Butcher of Syria. He has actually done a pretty good job- where "good job" is defined as "advancing Putin's wishes." He was the architect of the plan to withdraw troops from Kherson to preserve them to fight for another day, which they are doing, and the architect of the plan to go after Ukraine's infrastructure. It is hard to argue that he has not had success in doing that. I will tell ya what. Looks to me like Vlad is doubling down on surrounding himself with loyalists no matter how incompetent they are: e.g. Gerasimov and Shoigu- as his paranoia increases. Putin probably thinks Armageddon and the Wagner guy are plotting together with the hardliners in Moscow- and they probably are so I will give Vlad that. This is a weird one. Putin is getting paranoid as hell and shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. I mean he has always shuffled generals and officers around but Armageddon has been bonded at the hip with Putin since he flattened Syria. And if Putin does not know that Gerasimov and Shoigu got him in the pickle he is in today with their stupid "Kiev in 3 days" bullshit then he is pretty far gone in the head. I suspect that the CIA planted some disinformation on General Armageddon saying that he was a plotter or something, knowing that Russian intelligence would pick it up. Not sayin' that's a bad thing. Sure, you can argue that I am overthinking it. And Vlad is just pissed that Bhasmut and the Donbass in general are not moving along fast enough. Ahhh, okay. So Gerasimov is going to do better than Armageddon? Heh. I don't think so. General Armageddon: I feel under appreciated. I'm told to butcher, I like butchering, nobody butchers better than I, and I tirelessly butcher. What's a butcher to do? I felt Putin and I were in a symbiotic relationship. Alas, time to update my LinkedIn profile, it seems.
