Let's take a look at Putin's long, rambling speech yesterday. The vatniks will be quite proud of his unhinged commentary.

    Short version
Putin: Resistance in Ukraine is part of a Western plot for world domination through "rules" and "order". I remain a master strategist.

Cleverly slaps down Vladimir Putin as Russian President rambles for 3 1/2 hours

James Cleverly has hit out at Vladimir Putin after the Russian President gave a rambling speech today. The Foreign Secretary branded Mr Putin's address on Thursday as "unclear, untrue and unedifying".

The Russian leader took part in a more than three-and-a-half-hour question-and-answer session at the annual Valdai forum.

In the wide-ranging speech, Mr Putin sought to justify his brutal invasion of Ukraine and heavily criticised the West.

But Mr Cleverly said: "Putin's message today to the Russian people is unclear, untrue and unedifying.

"What is crystal clear, is our message to the world.

"Aggressors must not be able to invade their neighbours with impunity.

"We will resolutely support Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy."

  7. The worst thing that Putin has said recently is that he has ruled out the use of nuclear weapons- since we know that the exact oppositive of whatever he says is usually the truth.

This is the same guy who assured the world many times over that he was not invading Ukraine- just some training exercises.

The truck explosion on the Kerch bridge can be directly attributed to Russian corruption. This is not surprising.

Of course, all of this assumes that Russia's narrative about the truck being the cause of the bridge explosion is correct.

  9. Fortunately the Ukrainians are savvy enough to smell a rat with Russia in regard to Kherson.

Looks like the Russians are eager to bail out and watch the Ukrainian troops flood in. Then the Russians will flatten the whole city with artillery from across the river and with missiles from further away, as they did to Mariupol.

It appears that all the officers and trained Russian troops have left, but the cannon fodder has been ordered to dig in hard and stay. With chechen troops positioned behind them to kill them if they retreat.

I doubt that the Ukrainians will walk into that trap. Mostly likely they will keep the cannon fodder trapped in Kherson from the outskirts. And keep the Russians from crossing any bridges in either direction, and then swing over and attack the Russians on the east side of the river/left bank.

‘Too loud to be true’: Is Russia setting a trap in Kherson?

Ukrainian troops are expected to make a bid for Kherson, one of four partially occupied provinces Russia annexed.
