There is no military value to where the Russians are targeting so that begs the question why? a. All they have left that can do serious damage is long rockets. Maybe. Their general offensive capabilities is in the shitter. The Russians cannot stand toe to toe with Ukraine at this point. If they want to be seen as a threat this could do it. b. The Russians are setting the table for a cease fire. Probably. These strikes are just terroristic in nature. Couple this with Musk pushing a peace plan sounds like the way Russians like to get things done. Use a useful idiot and create chaos then look for an advantage as the dust is settling. “Escalate to de-escalate.” c. Retaliation for the bridge explosions. Doubtful because there is no military value to these attacks. The Russians are attacking military or logistics targets. They are going after civilian areas and civilian infrastructure like heating and water.
All of that being true, I do nevertheless think that as Americans we tend to believe that just going after infrastructure and civilians is a sign of defeat by the Russians. Not necessarily. They are on a genocidal and cultural genocide campaign. They left Mariupol looking like a parking lot. Killed everyone, the survivors are all off in camps, totally leveled everything. This was way back before they were even thinking about defeat. That's what "winning" looks like to them. You know, the western mind would look at Ghengis Khan's men and think: "Jeesuzz H man, you know you are losing when all you are doing is raping the women and children, stealing their food, and torching their huts." But they would look at you and say: "What the hell are you talking about, this is what winning looks like." Could be some of that DNA still at work in those Russian troops and in Putin. Just maybe. Back in February, I said that Putin was following a "marry me or I will kill you" strategy against Ukraine. I am not ready to revise that theory yet.
True or not... I just found it amusing. You would think that anyone configuring it in Russia would change the account owner, etc. for the stolen camera system. I am assuming if the story is true then the video is streaming to a cloud account and the original owner is seeing the live video there or it could still be associated with an app on the original owners phone. Would be interesting to get the make/model of the video camera to see what the possibilities are.
First, the home looks like a dump, who would want to see with just one room. Second, if that Russian did steal the CCTV, where is he wired this device to and what device is he watching the feed on? Look like a hotel/airbnb setting.
there will come a time - even in "russia" (a chinese colony by then), without any more oil and gas, etc. in the ground. and then - what will be left from this "proud" (lol...) "country"? only stupid people, alcoholism, wheat and potatoes ...? what a perspective for a self called "superpower".
