Just so folks understand who Mark Hertling is and his expertise in military training...

US general responsible for troop training brands Putin's plan to force 300,000 civilians to fight in Ukraine as a 'disaster' waiting to happen - while Russian Google searches for 'how to break an arm at home' SKYROCKET

    • Mark Hertling, formerly an Army lieutenant general specializing in troop training, took to Twitter to describe Russia's barely existent military training
    • Hertling said that Russian recruits are sometimes given only a handful of training within the unit they are going to fight with, and don't receive basic training
    • Meanwhile in Russia, Google searches 'how to break an arm' skyrocketed in the country mere hours after Putin announced his conscription
    • Addressing Russia on Wednesday, Putin announced he would be drafting 300,000 people who had previous military experience

The strategy is more likely to issue russian passports to those of military age in those regions for the purpose of conscription.

From a russian perspective, Ukrainians have no right to self-determination, sovereignty and the people's are considered sub-human.

In terms of nuclear option, it's pretty clear that the strategy is to create a disaster with
Zaporizhzhia, which can be deflected and denied much easier than an outright strike.

  5. There are those that argue that the biggest impact of the mobilization will be that it undermines the struggling economy by taking even more workers away. Indeed we are seeing plenty of that already. Energy sector workers are being required to report for conscription. And steel plant workers...and...

Drafting Ukrainians who are presumed to be pro-Russian? What could go wrong there.

So let's check-in with how things are going in Russia....

Let's see how Putin's new "no surrender" policy for the troops works out.

Thinking of breaking your own arm to avoid the conscription, I think Putin will be happy to send you to Ukraine with one working arm. Surely Pootie-Poots will also shortly be clamping down on you fleeing the motherland.

‘Thrown into the meat grinder’: Russians react to mobilisation
After President Putin announced the partial mobilisation of population, ‘how to leave Russia’ spikes on search engines.

So what is Putin's new strategy --- well here's the basic concept.
