Finland tightening up considerably though even if not a total closing- yet. "As of Sept. 1, Finland slashed the number of visas – including for tourism purposes – issued to Russian citizens to one-tenth of the typical number, a move seen as a show of solidarity with Ukraine." https://www.whec.com/business/finland-real-estate-may-no-longer-secure-visas-for-russians/

Russia and Comoro islands (look them up if you don't know where/what they are) signed an agreement yesterday to cooperate in space development and agreed not to place any weapons in space. Comoro islands. I am not joking. Russia is really scraping beyond the bottom of the barrel to score a diplomatic "win". Oh, Russia already has similar agreements with the Seychelles, Nicaragua, Sierra-Leone, Burundi, Venezuela and Suriname. Basically all the major space-going powers.
I hear from friends in Kiev that there is a marked increase in the number of castrated Ukranian soldiers coming to hospital. Seems to be the new tactic Russians apply. Russian soldiers that surrender ask explicitely to be treated as soldiers of war according to the Geneva convention. It is clear why they ask that, as they know what happens with Ukrainian soldiers that are captured. Ukraine should behave like the Russians, as most of these Russian criminals don't care about any rules at all. An eye for an eye...
Putin hustling around trying to run an emergency vote in the Russian held regions to have a fake election to join Russia. He is trying to put together a win scenario so that he can bail out of the war and declare victory back home. Not sure how that is going to work. He is backing himself into a corner where if Ukraine recaptures those regions he is even more humiliated. What a mess.
