  2. Whew, the Russians here are trapped but are afraid to flee because they think/know that the Ukrainians have planted mines around them. Man, that adds a whole new meaning to being "trapped like a rat."

Getting to be time to shoot the officers and surrender. Most likely the officers left long ago anyway.

Russian Soldier Tells Dad Troops Have 'Nowhere to Run' as Ukraine Advances

A transcript and audio of the conversation recorded at an unspecified date was posted on YouTube by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Defense Ministry. A translation conducted by The Daily Beast revealed an angst-ridden son who surprised his father by saying the Russians are "losing" in the region.

"I'm telling you, seriously, you know how many injured we have? ... We have nowhere to run," the soldier said. "They just keep advancing, advancing, advancing."

After telling his father that mortar fire has been ineffective against Ukrainian personnel, the soldier said that his "surrounded" unit hasn't fled because mines likely were planted on their escape route.

"That's why we're here for now," he said.

  3. I guess all that oil revenue that Putin is enjoying is not exactly making it to the front lines.

Most likely they are still paying that 172 dollars for a soldier killed in action but probably he has to show up and sign for it.

  4. Getting to be more and more dangerous to work for the Ruskies in the occupied areas.

    Good.

The article says her life is "not under threat." Sure if you can overlook the fact that people are trying to kill her and she is in the hospital, everything is groovy. Actually she is a dead man (woman) walking. The guy with her was killed. I suppose you could say his life is no longer under threat too.

The guy wanted to say "This smells like Nazism". But since he was on the main Russian channel and didn't want to wind up in prison, he said "This smells like nationalism". Which sounds close to "Nazism" in Russian.

But yes - there are some pure Nazis among Russian propagandists.

Russian correspondent admits army suffered ‘huge’ losses in on-air gaffe

War correspondent Alexander Sladkov (left) said during a live broadcast on the state TV channel Rossiya 1 that the military is “losing a huge number of people.”
    Russia-1

The journalist immediately realized his blunder and scrambled to walk it back by saying, “We’re having great successes, we’re having great successes, but we’re not…”

Struggling to finish his thought, the panicked correspondent tried to pivot the conversation toward Russia’s use of long-range aviation and recent strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy sector.

“But once again, we didn’t finish the job … what are the people saying? ‘We’re winning on points. But we’d like a knockout,'” he concluded.
