Russia & Ukraine

  1. Ahh, I see now that the Ukrainians are not just doing a surge to gain territory. They have a larger purpose in mind.

Y'all will recall from the early days that I said that the only thing that would make me optimistic about Ukraine's chances would be if they were able to get behind their supply lines by taking out bridges and rail. Hello. Now they are making progress. And they have a destination in mind with this current plunge into Russian held turf. That whole eastern front is El Fucko for the Russians if they take this rail line. -see article. Taking care of the bridges has mostly been done.

It has been reported that Putin is hustling re-inforcements to that area. I can see why. His ass is grass and the Ukrainians are lawnmowers if the Ukrainians take that rail line which is not that far away from where they are now.

Seriously, Vlad needs to get this under control or heads will be exploding on Russian State TV. The Ukrainians are now 15 km from that rail line. Down in the Donbass, 15 km is very far away when the lines only shift 2 km every other month. But the Ukrainians covered 50 km just in the last two days up in the north in this current offensive move. Can you spell HIMARS, boys and girls? And it goes without saying that the Ukrainians will want to move on the rail line before Putin's reinforcements show up, duh.

Ukraine forces near Russian supply lines

The Institute for the Study of War think tank said the Ukrainians were now within just 15km of Kupiansk, an essential junction for the main railway lines that Moscow has been using for months to supply its forces on the battlefields in the east.

Photos from the Balakleya weapons depot re-captured by the Ukrainians. Reportedly vast quantities of ammo for "old" weapons that Ukrainians still use.

  5. "Uh oh" on steroids for the Russians.

Some may have read my post- a few posts up- about the importance of the railway hub feeding the entire eastern front for the Russians, and that the Ukrainians were within striking distance of it with their current surge.

That railway hub and line are like the major artery leading into the Donbass and south. While it is fantastic to take out all those ammo depots, even better is to take out the train line bringing it all into the region.

Anyway, I checked for a little update on that this morning. As I said in my post: "And it goes without saying that the Ukrainians will want to move on the rail line before Putin's reinforcements show up, duh."

    No lie there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Putin, you are fucked on this one buddy. This is a logistics nightmare for the Russians.

Ukraine troops raise flag over railway hub as advance threatens to turn into rout

With Ukrainians now having reached the city of Kupiansk, where rail lines linking Russia to eastern Ukraine converge, the advance had penetrated all the way to Moscow’s main logistics route, potentially trapping thousands of Russian troops.

    More problems in Russia?

Another group of deputies (from Moscow) ask resignation of Putin.

At the same time in Moscow, the Moscow Ring Road was blocked, the equipment of the National Guard is heading towards Balashikha.
    All is posted on telegram.

Maybe the smart remark from this man is the real reason:
It was a chase. The police was trying to stop the conscripts from fleeing. They were heading east and not west toward Ukraine.

    LOL.

Maybe we should wait till all soldiers are in Ukraine and then NATO should invade Russia as there will be no soldiers anymore.:wtf: We might lose Ukraine but we would have Russia, so it is not such a bad deal.... NATO would cover over 50% of the entire world. :D And after that we can invade Ukraine from within Russia and take Ukraine back too.:fistbump::strong:

  9. Mark Hertling, a retired four-star general and former commander of U.S. ground forces in Europe, tweeted: "Make no mistake, (Ukraine) is executing a brilliant maneuver focused on terrain objectives to 'bag' Russians. But the Russians are helping them -- by doing very little to counter."
