Some context -- this billing is due to their underlying power company going bankrupt and the billing being moved over to another electric company until Sept 1st. This bill with a 400% increase is not reflective of increases of overall electric rates across Europe -- which have gone up -- but not in the manner reflected in this particular bill. These type of eye-popped electric bills for businesses are being seen in the U.K. and Ireland rather than France and Germany because of the unregulated electric provider market in the U.K and Ireland.
Data collection and source verification when preceding belief is a rational approach to sensemaking. Believing something prior to a critical evaluation of it's merits is faith based magical thinking.
I have family living in Belgium. Their bill for gas and electricity went up from 145 EUR/month two years ago, to 281 EUR now. So these triple, quadruple or more bills are not normal. Prices are up between 100 and 150%. Most energy companies have long term contracts at much lower prices than the spot market. In all articles journalists use however the spot market (TTF) prices which are just for immediate and urgent deliveries. That's more spectacular and better for selling nespapers. These prices are not realistic for the situation in EU.

If true, it looks like some Ukrainian went to Home Depot and got a large can of RUSKIE-B-GONE and sprayed it on the Russian headquarters here. Russian Military HQ Wiped Out by Ukraine, Photo Appears to Show https://www.newsweek.com/russian-mi...-kherson-counteroffensive-ukraine-war-1738098
Ukrainians are just saying "no" to everything at the Antonovsky bridge. Unlike the last few weeks where they would strike and then let the Russians diddle around for a couple of weeks trying to fix it or use pontoon bridges. Of course, there is a good reason for that. Ukraine war: Russian ferry hit as Ukraine bombards key supply bridge in Kherson Ukrainian forces appear to have hit a ferry as they targeted the Antonovsky bridge in their long-awaited counter-offensive to retake the southern city of Kherson. Video footage shared on pro-Ukrainian social media channels appears to show plumes of black smoke billowing above the crossing, Russia’s main route across the Dnipro River, after multiple long-range strikes. It appeared that at least one of the rocket attacks on Tuesday was aimed at a temporary pontoon constructed by Moscow in order to transport military supplies across the Dnipro. Another showed smoke rising from an object in the water which appears to be a barge ferry. https://www.newsweek.com/russian-mi...-kherson-counteroffensive-ukraine-war-1738098
