Russia & Ukraine

Discussion in 'Politics' started by UsualName, Jan 18, 2022.

  1. Yeh, the real story there too is that it was in Crimea, or seems to have been. And the U.S. has publicly stated that Crimea is an okay target. Not what Vlad wants to hear. I mean, we know attacks have already occurred there, duh, but even Ukraine would not acknowledge them until now.

The other not-so-subtle thing that is occurring is that Ukraine has developed home made javelins that seem to be working fine, BUT also developed longer range missiles, some of which have been used in Crimea. The thing there is that the U.S. is helping to supply them with parts (pre-made missiles minus a few things?) and tech advice. In that way the U.S. allegedly is not violating its statement that it will not provide long range missiles to Ukraine, because these are Ukraine built missiles. Sorta. OR NOT.

Russian soldier breaks through omerta with war diary and fillets Russian army: “I refuse to be part of this madness”

Pavel Filatyev (34) has fled his homeland after publishing a 141-page document describing his experiences on the front lines. The Russian soldier breaks through the omerta: “We Russians do not feel that what we are doing is right. What the hell do we need this war for?”

Two weeks ago, the Russian published his 141-page war diary on the Russian social networking site Vkontakte. And that document hit like a bomb. It was a description of how his unit was sent from Crimea to the Ukrainian mainland and captured the seaport of Kherson. He also shared how he ended up being injured and evacuated with an eye infection.

    What is omerta?

edit: Dang, that is a long detailed account of a 30yr veteran. He has a lot of well-reasoned logical arguments - soldiers are not zombies after-all.

Omerta is the code of silence used by criminal organizations. Speaking up and saying the truth is generally viewed as breaking omerta.

The Russians hate the west but want to be just like us. The funny part is they can’t even copy right.

  10. you got it wrong pal, shows how much you know about real Russia. Russians love people from the West, especially the ones that lived during the USSR when so many nations were part of one country. The reason they rip off your brands is the counter sanctions measures. It’s a V sign to you or giving you the middle finger. You stole their assets and they stole your assets in response. It’s ironically funny.
