take a look at all those eastern countries which are now part of eu. see how they were able to develop with support from eu. and compare them to russia.
And your point is let’s enforce this upon the people of Russia? Let them decide their own direction, stop dictating. And what prosperity of other Eastern European countries are you talking about? Did you speak to the people from these countries? Many of their citizens have fucked off abroad, that’s true, this hardly influenced their GDP. They provide the necessary workforce in the West, filling up both the unqualified and qualified sectors. Then they send or bring their savings back home and invest. Apart from the cycle, how has being members of EU made their economy any better? They became a free society? And what?
these people are idiots. ukraine is a free country and can do and decide whatever it wants. russia has to stop thinking about the past. there are many countries in the world which were larger in the past. so what? russia will die.
Yes, Ukraine is a free country and was a free country until the official government was overthrown by 0.05% of Ukraine’s population with the help of the US. But the freedom of choice is capped, same as it would be capped for the citizens of Mexico if they ever wanted to be a member of the Russian/Chinese/Arabic military alliance whose purpose was to protect its members against the dominance and threat of the US.
hahaha. And now you’ll have ARMED IRS agents coming into your home if they believe that you haven’t paid the correct amount of tax! Fuck me, that’s next level of freedom. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...-of-the-free/2012/01/04/gIQAvcD1wP_story.html
Very valid point. We ( in the UK )pre - Brexit had many of these people, many of whom are still working here. The problem is that many EU nationals have decided to go home, especially during covid. There is now a shortage of workers in hospitality and many other low paid areas which the UK is trying to fill by trying to tempt EU and non EU workers to come to the UK. Of course this will deprive these Eastern European countries of skilled and unskilled workers thus causing problems in their countries. In short membership of the EU has done them no favours.
