Of course it can be repaired, even if it would be destroyed completely it can be rebuild. The question is: how long will it take? Months? Years?
At this moment it is impossible to use the bridge for real military action. And Russia needs this bridge now. After the bombing of July 26 the damage has increased much, weakening the structure even more. Not only the holes are far bigger, there are also more holes and not only the top level is gone, even underlying levels are gone. You can see the water thru the holes.
And Ukraine will continue to bomb the bridge if Russia would try to repair it. The bridge is out for the rest of the war.

  3. The factor that goes unmentioned is that ideally the Ukrainians want that bridge for themselves to supply themselves once or if they get the Ruskies out.

They may prefer to leave it just the way it is. Too busted down to allow for the passage of heavy military supply but possibly salvageable at some point down the road. Maybe let the Ruskies try to fix it up a little. As long as it is not serving the Russian Army there is no need to take it down. If it starts being operational, well, the Ukrainians have the coordinates for it.

Maybe ten minutes per bad patch depending on how many tank bridges the need to lay on top to make it passable. Its a moot point as Kherson is lost to Russia for practical purposes, its now for Ukraine to maximise their gain and be in a position to advance on Crimea.

The Ukranians want the bridge themselves so they have no incentive to really fuck it up but I'd bet the Russians may demo charge it. Actually knowing the Russians they will use the threat of this as blackmail in their retreat across it and then blow columns anyway. Perhaps the Ukranians will be putting ground forces there first. I'd also wonder how many river ferries are left. I recall there is at least one ferry crossing marked on the map though thle Eastern side of the river didn't seem to go anywhere except to some isolated docks.

From memory, there is another bridge crossing <90km or so north at the hydroelectric plant.

Zapo-something I'm not sure of but Dinipro itself north again aka "Rocket city" is still under Ukraine's control. I can't remember the distance.

In any event the bridge can still be crossed for retreat, the Russians have blackmail options including fucking up the hydro power station if that next up the river bridge is similarly targeted by HIMARS.

Overall though advantage Ukraine I just hope they can be in a position to rake the ports in Crimea very soon.

    Forget about dead Ukranians???
    Is Griner the REAL tragedy???

Dead Ukrainians are dead, their life is finished. They were killed in their own country.

Griner still has hope to ever leave Russia and still enjoy life. She choose freely to stay and make big money in Russia. She also made the mistake to stay when it became a threat. I know a few Belgian sportmen playing in Russia. They left in time instead of staying there. Griner made the wrong choice.

Left in time (in March! so there was time enough to leave):
    • Julie Vanloo (Krasnoyarsk)
    • Meesseman (Ekaterinburg)
    • Kyara Linksens (Orenburg)
    • Hind Ben Abdelkader (Nika Syktyvkar)

  9. As I have said in half a dozen earlier posts: "The Ruskies need to worry about getting positioned too far south and then the Ukrainians taking out the bridges and trapping them like rats without supplies."

    Keep worrying.

Indeed, I have to wonder if the deal being offered to Putin is sensible considering they are offering that major arms dealer.

I'd be happier knowing if the cannibas oil vape was planted or not. I have assumed it was but as she was caught flying into Moscow from New York on Feb 2nd maybe she was dumb enough. I don't have a lot of sympathy for anyone not thinking about their destination's laws.
