Revealing the hidden casualties of one elite Russian regiment in Ukraine
Russia's 331st Guards Parachute Regiment, considered "the best of the best."

BBC Newsnight estimates the total number of casualties to be between 400-500, almost half of the regiment's strength from the beginning of the war.

  4. The Express/UK goes a bit too tabloidy for me at times but, nevertheless, this article (in link) fits my view, based on a wider reading.

As I have said a few times before, let's see the Belarus troops actually go into Ukraine instead of the months of threats and moving them all around the border to look scary. They will be going home in a body bag. The Belarus soldiers are a complete joke. Except some of them are smart enough to not even want to go to war and can't exactly remember why they are supposed to want to kill Ukrainians so there is that.

Lukashenko is on very shaky grounds on the home front and he is trying to satisfy his puppetmaster Putin and also fend off an uprising - or should that be "another" uprising- at home. Doing something very, very stupid right now which would not go over well on the home front or with his own military would be stupid and dangerous for him. It is already a tinderbox just waiting for Lukashenko to have an extra bowl of stupid for breakfast.

The Ukrainians have the missiles now too to rattle the Belarus people on the homefront and give them something to think about too. I would just want to get their attention though if Lukashenko stepped out of line. I would not want to be too rough on them or end out killing civilians because lots of them are pro-Ukrainian and want to get rid of the the shit-bum Lukashenko.

Belarus army accuses Putin of 'destroying our sovereignty' - Lukashenko faces MAJOR revolt
BELARUS despot Aleksandr Lukashenko is facing the prospect of a major military revolt amid growing concerns among his officer corps over Mink's alignment with Putin's Russia and support for the war in Ukraine.

I would say the strategic targets. For the citizens to live among the smokes/fires, would be dreadful as much.

That explains the recent Zombie pause. A new figure on the chess board, a new Queen for Ukrainians.

6 depots destroyed today. HIMARS are working well. I have a feeling the coordinates are being fed to the Ukrainians by live US satellite image "consultants".

Plus UK, maybe France's intelligence too. Maybe even the Germans, secretelly, dropping a hint or two.

    Who knows.

    Just saying.

  8. There are two major rail lines leading down into that whole donbass and south region now occupied by the Russians.

Most of the bridges on those rail lines are still up and are supplying the Russians.

The risk that the Russians have faced in putting all their troops down in those regions is that all their troops and military power would be concentrated there but if Nato entered the war, the first thing it would do would be to bypass the russian troops there and cut off their supply lines from behind, leaving them trapped like rats. Nato would use both planes and missiles to take out those bridges.

The Ukrainians however have not had the troops, missiles , or planes to pull off that maneuver and there have been made-up fake rules about not crossing into russian territory and not wanting to piss Vlad off. Just sayin, those Russian troops are very vulnerable down there and are only protected by Ukraines inability to take out those rail lines and to get behind their supply lines. Might need some more "consultants" to remedy that situation.

Y'all who have been in the corporate world or government know the definition of a consultant: Consultants are like a seagulls. They swoop in, eat your lunch, shit on you and then fly away.

Like in Normady, WW2, night before landing, 30 000 paratroopers, out into unknown, to destroy the roads and bridges, so that the Germans at beach would be left with no supplies.
Noone would use that many of human lives these days (CCP in Taiwan maybe), but the idea is simmilar.

205th special motorized brigade: this is a "shaming" poster from it with the list of its soldiers who refused to participate in the "special military operation".

See, there are people with conscience left in Russia. Or just those who don't want to be just meat for Putin. The total # (including the people listed at the bottom) - about 300. That's about 10% of the total size of the brigade.
