Interviewing Russian soldiers in Ukrainian custody:

Подполковник ходил и у раненых спрашивал, могут ли они дальше воевать, если нет, стрелял. Застрелил 4-х, а мог вывезти и спасти

Lt. Colonel asked the wounded if they are combat capable. If not, he shot them. Killed 4.

Just so you'll know, many Americans condemned the GWB Iraq war as wrong and predicated on false information. But what does this have to do with our world's present reality? Russia is committing horrendous war crimes in Ukraine as I type this.

You are defending a pariah; a pariah pointlessly causing millions to be displaced from their homes and the needless deaths of thousands of young Russians and Ukrainians. In the meantime Russians are destroying their own economy while threatening world food supplies and stability.

An economically weak nation like Russia can not win Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine; not because Russia is too economically and militarily weak, but rather because in invading a sovereign democratic nation Mr. Putin brought down upon his head the full industrial and military might of the democratic nations of the world. And just as the senseless American Vietnam war was brought to an end by the American People, the Russian people will force an end to this insane war in Ukraine. But the harm done by wars is not undone the moment the war is over. It will last at least a generation.

I heard this morning that Finland is certain now to join NATO; to be likely followed by Sweden. None of this would have been necessary had Mr. Putin not made it so.

More on the $40B bill that everyone in this thread is cheering (and subsequently calling anyone against a "Putin Lover"). What's going to be hilarious (in a tragic way) is reading just what part of $40B actually goes to the Ukraine for help.

You folks on record here are going to have a lot of fun when the list of spending is presented.

I can only speak for myself of course, but I am cheering because it is so nice to be on the right side for a change. And when I am on the right side, defending people I don't know from an aggressor, I will happily make the inconsequential, to me, sacrifices of higher prices and taxes to support the Ukrainians fighting for their homeland. I do understand that for some this small price is not so small. Regardless, it is nothing compared to the sacrifices being made by young Russians and Ukrainians.

First, I find it hilarious that this is you thinking you're on the right side "for a change". If you admittedly have been on the wrong side so many times previous, what makes you think you're on the right side now?

As for sacrifices - you're OK giving billions not to the Ukraine, but to the CIA, the Pentagon, Justice Department and other parts of the government that the Ukraine won't see a penny of in the end anyway. Sure, they'll get some of it, maybe even the majority of it. But the amount of pork? Oh yeah, baby.

But of course you are. You're a self-professed Libertarian, right! LOL

  9. Maybe one of the Putin bootlickers can put up a web link where people can go to donate to body armor for Russian troops.

Please be advised that I am not sure that your donation is tax deductible if filing as an American. Consult your tax advisor.

    Also, please donate in rubles.

  10. Russian Troops Fed Up With ‘Old Nutjob’ Putin Vanish After Bizarre ‘Tribunal’

    MELTDOWN
A group of Russian soldiers who didn’t want to “keep going ahead” in Ukraine were reportedly stripped, tied up, and whisked off in buses to an unknown location.

"Perhaps that is why Russia’s military leadership reportedly sent in a general with a brutal reputation to bring soldiers in line.

“Well, Muradov arrived and arranged a demonstrative tribunal,” one purported Russian soldier told his friend in what Ukraine’s Security Service said was another intercepted phone conversation between troops.

The general’s full name was not revealed in the recording, but the men appeared to be referring to Rustam Muradov, a lieutenant general and the deputy commander of the Southern Military District, known for overseeing fierce fighting in Syria. Muradov has also been personally sanctioned by the European Union in connection with Russia’s war against Ukraine.

According to the unnamed soldier in the recording, Muradov was sent in to crack down on his unit because “no one wanted to keep going ahead.”

“The commanders didn’t want to lead their boys to death. The guys themselves just weren’t ready. So yesterday [Muradov] busted the fuck out of the commanders to make an example, he undressed them, made them pull everything out of their pockets, tied their hands. Then they loaded them into [buses] and took them away,” he said."
